PapoHippopotamus Toy Figure

The toy was a big hit for my 5yo son, very sturdy and good quality. Would buy again.

Outstanding. Do not hesitate to purchase. Another wonderful Papo figurine. The Papo big cats, dinosaurs/prehistoric world, and safari wildlife do not disappoint. Very happy with the Schleich farm animals instead of the Papo farm animals. Nevertheless, a superb Papo figurine!

Fair Warning: I'm just going to post this in all my animal items needing reviews unless one of them stands out for good or ill. My son has a built up a heck of a collection made up of Papo, Collecta, and Schleich, and Safari Ltd. My son and I, or he and his friend, have enjoyed playing with them, some for several years. As there is often a predator-prey battle, there can be some violent collisions, "clawing", "pouncing upon", etc. The Papo, Schleich, and Collecta are high quality replicas--all good build quality, durable, wonderfully detailed, a good weight and heft but not overly so, and they have held up without any issues (as mentioned, I'll note any exceptions in the individual review). The Safari Ltd. have suffered the most from the treatment, though the vast majority of those creatures have come through relatively unscathed. I'd say they're lesser quality i both durability and craftsmanship, but they are more than adequate for playing even somewhat roughly with. If it has thin legs, or other parts, it might be better to go the Schleich or Collecta, as they really are excellent build quality. But for creatures without a lot of appendages or thin parts (say, a beaver), the Safari are fine, if not quite as nicely made.

OK, a little explanation. My wife REALLY likes hippos. In fact, if she were going to be reincarnated she would choose to be a hippo. It's not a bad choice...think about it. Being really big and fat is best, you get to lounge around in warm water all day, you waddle up onto shore and eat your fill and then head back to the water. Plus, hippos are allegedly really bad-tempered...there are confirmed reports of people being killed or maimed by them. Anyway, I gave one of these Papa: Adult Hippopotamus units to my wife for Valentine's Day this year (along with a few other things), and it was a HIT!This toy appears to be VERY durable. It's size is as advertised. It is heavy and has no external openings. This is a quality toy. It's pose shows the general demeanor of these animals, and it would be fun as a child's toy, on the office shelf or desk of a professional, or, like ours, in a place of honor in our home :-D.This toy is worth the cost, and my wife is VERY happy with hers.5 stars all the way!

Papo makes a very wide range of realistic animal figures and this hippo is among the best of their products. My 3-year-old grandson loves it. The quality is such that it can be used in a diorama or displayed.

My son loves toy animals. This hippopotamus is very realistic and very sturdy. It's actually a little heavy. It was a great addition to my sons "zoo."
