DEWALT DW4777T 5-Inch XP Turbo Diamond Cup Wheel

Had to grind down some underlayment and this made the job easy.

Long lasting with an aggressive cut. I had to grind some concrete down and bought a cup wheel from Home Depot. It was garbage. Wore down faster than the concrete. This wheel really did the job. With almost no ware. It was worth the money.

I had a crack in our concrete patio. I filled it in but it was still uneven. I used this cutter with a grinding tool and it leveled the concrete. I used a cordless grinder. The batteries get hot and they run out of power quicker than usual. If you have a big job, plan to do it in installments and check the temperature of the battery as you go. Otherwise, you will ruin the battery.

I bought this accessory to grind down some thinset left on a concrete floor after removing some tile. I also needed to grind down some concrete where I squared off a curved corner of a sunken shower. This thing worked great! Almost too good!! I used the dust shroud & a shop vac to keep the dust down, but still had a cloud of dust. Highly recommend a two-cartridge respirator for this; not a paper dust mask. Also, wear goggles.

Great grinding disc, I needed to grind down a cement bench that I made and it worked wonderfully! If you don’t have them, be sure to buy some safety glasses or goggles!

This style wheel with turbine vanes tends to be aggressive at taking down material. Wheels with concentric rings can give longer life when grinding surfaces flat. The vanes protrude beyond the edge of the wheel helping grind into the adjacent surface as the tool and wheel are moved side-to-side. The edge of the wheel limits the amount of material that can be ground-away in a pass. The 5" diameter wheel needs a reasonably powerful grinder to drive it at the appropriate speed. Match the RPM ratings. This type of grinding can create a great deal of noise, flying debris and dust. Dust can be reduced by keeping the surface wet with flowing water. Eye and hearing protection for anyone in the area are a must.

Great for soft to medium hard concrete to prep for coatings. Lasts a long time.

This grinding wheel worked like a charm to grind away 60 years worth of crap on our 100-year old house basement walls. Paint and plaster they used to fill in holes (who does that on concrete?) didn't stand a chance. Will buy again when it is worn away. I used it on a dewalt 12 amp grinder with the dewalt 5" vacuum shroud. Do not think you don't need face protection or good mask filtration with this set-up. Stuff really flies when you get going and dust still gets released.
