Kinex 1089-07-120 5-1/4 Inch (120 mm) Stainless Steel Machinist Protractor Angle Finder

What can I say, it is a protractor. It is the most solid protractor I have ever owned. It is heavy sheet metal, 12 Gauge maybe? As far as accuracy, I can set an angle of 90 degrees, run that line out the length of a 4' X 8' sheet of plywood, and check it direct with a machinist square (90). Measuring equal distance on the legs of the ninety, and connecting the hypotenuse points, I have 45s I can check. As far as I can tell it is true, over distances of several feet.

Very beefy. That's good! But inaccurate. That's bad! When I sent the protractor to a true 90 degrees. it reads 90 1/2. Very disappointing.

I would give it 10 stars if i could.This thing WELL made. Super tough and precise. Not like those thin gauge 10 dollars ones, i dont think i could bend it if i wanted to. Highly recommended.

The packaging was well repaired with lots of clear tape. Looked new enough. Awkward to use. Have to figure out the two washers and bearing placement. Seems accurate. The scale and numbers are stamped in with color filled in.

It is real tool not toy.

This is without a doubt the nicest protractor angle finder I have ever used. In fact, I like it so much that I went ahead and bought a machinist square from Kinex. That turned out to be an excellent decision too, thus I will be ordering more squares form Kinex in various sizes. I just can't believe there aren't more reviews on Amazon for Kinex tools, mainly the squares and protractor.
