Q: Is this good for cake decorating?

I think it would be perfect! If you are planning on moving the cake later then maybe a sheet of silicone paper underneath would be a good idea. Kind regards - Cookbook People

Q: Can someone please tell me how heavy the 16" lazy susan is?

This is not super heavy but solid and sturdy; not at all flimsy. Mine arrived in an oversized shipping box that was absolutely unnecessary. Very nice item though. Glad I purchased it. (This was a gift).
