Q: How do you use it? How much do you have to add? Thank you

There are so many ways to use Acrylic Retarder, more than I can write about here, but to list just a few ideas: 1)you can mix it with the water in your spray mist bottle; 2) blend it into your "mixing white" paint; 3) cover your blank canvas with a thin film before starting your painting. And I found some very good tips on how to use retarder on YouTube.

Q: Can it be used with gouache?

Only if you're using an acrylic gouache otherwise you don't want it. Gouache uses water-based binders same as watercolors do. The nice thing about gouache is you can keep it going by sprinkling a bit of water into it until you're done. Even if it dries you can rework it just by reintroducing a little bit of water and reworking it into its brushable form again! Acrylic uses an acrylic polymer (plastic)binder that's water-soluble when wet until it dries then it's dry. Period. Save your money for some more colors or better, a color wheel and some literature and keep your paint wet and your powder dry and good painting! Mark

I don’t have experience with the airbrush, but a retarder will slow the drying time and it will be thicker. I’d go with a medium flow, but I’m not sure how it would work since I’ve never used an airbrush.

No, I can not detect any odor at all. Love this product
