The classic Orient diver has been upgraded in several areas, including the debut of the new Orient caliber F6922 and a more robust 120-Click bezel. With its roots dating back to 1901, Orient Watch has specialized in the manufacture and growth of mechanical timepieces. Since 1950, Orient has been at the forefront of the production of mechanical watches in Japan. When it comes to watchmaking, Orient does not have an obscure history: Orient has been producing mechanical watches for more than 60 years. It is one of the top three watch manufacturers from Japan and produces 2 million watches per year. Frankly, it may be the biggest watch brand you’ve never heard of. All of Orient’s movements are exclusively made in Japan and no iteration in manufacturing is outsourced. The implicit value of possessing an Orient watch is that the only way to enjoy its tremendous quality is through ownership. Orient prides itself on the premise that its timepieces are a “watchmaker’s watch”-- a no frills mechanical watch that is robust and trustworthy. Our online reputation suggests that an Orient watch is reliable out of the box. This can be attributed to Orient’s undying dedication to mechanical watches. In the eye of the Quartz Revolution in the 1970s, the other top Japanese brands went on to predominantly manufacture quartz, while Orient remained focused on its mechanical movements. And while Orient does produce quartz watches, all movements are supplied by its parent company. So what’s the difference between quartz and mechanical? Despite the obvious difference in moving parts, the short answer is seen in the smooth sweeping second hand of a mechanical watch versus the choppy tick of a quartz movement. As an in-house movement producer, Orient joins a short list of watch companies that actually manufacture their movements in-house and exclusively for their own use. In the industry, it is highly uncommon that a company produces their own movements in-house, and by doing so Orient Watch can ensure that the quality of their wristwatches are held to the highest standards— Orient’s watches have often been lauded for their rich styling, dependability, and tremendous value. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Built in the exact image of its predecessor, the Ray II Rubber is Orient's second generation of its iconic flagship diver model. Sporting a near identical aesthetic to the original, there are several changes that may not be so obvious, including Orient's newest movement caliber which is automatic, hand-winding, and hacking (where the seconds hand will stop when the crown is pulled out to its second position). This new movement eliminates the need for a second crown, which was at the two o'clock position on the original model. Additionally, the bezel has been upgraded to be 120-click, allowing greater position and timing. See more

awesome value for the money
For the money its hard to beat this watch. I have had it for a week and it has preformed quite well. The only problem was the bezel was super stiff, so I had to take it off and put some grease on it and it is fine now. The strap is ok, although is it very long. (I think the rest of the world has been watching too much NFL and thinks we are all that size) I ended up cutting it shorter with some heavy sheers and filing it smooth.Lume is ok, not the brightest ever, but it does last a long time. The real star of the watch is the movement. It hacks and has hand winding and is just about as accurate as a mechanical watch can get. The watch looks good too, I like the understated black dial, but if you like color, the Ray 2 also comes in a blue. The Manta 2 is the same watch, but has numbers and the blue dial.

A Lot Of Watch For The Money
This Orient Ray II exceeded my expectations in fit and finish, quality, and accuracy. After one week of use it only gains about 4 seconds a day. I expect that it will improve with time and break in. I immediately replaced the rubber strap with a nato strap so I can't comment on the comfort of the original band. The 120 click bezel is crisp and can't be accidentally moved while wearing which I find to be a plus. The quality of the watch is very pleasing and much more than expected. The lume on this watch is unreal as it is very bright and long lasting. Very satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend the Ray II to anyone looking for a great automatic watch.

Awesome value for the money!
In this day and age, it is difficult to find a multi-jeweled automatic mechanical watch. Much less one with the diving capabilities of this one. 200 meters that is 660 feet of water resistance. That aside the build quality, is nothing short of the fine craftsmanship the Japanese are known for. The bezel works just like a professional dive watch should function, the luminosity of the dials are perfect. All in all the build quality, the styling well I could go on and on. Kudos to Orient for making such a fine watch, every watch guy needs to own one of these.Reuben Garcia

Buy one and live happily ever after
This is bar none the best budget diver around $150 - especially now that Seiko have discontinued the SKX007. This is a stainless steel dive watch rated at 200m - it will go everywhere you go and do everything you do. I was concerned at how well the mineral glass would hold up but after one year of daily wear, mine has no scratches. The movement is a great one, Orient's own (impressive at this price point), automatic and for a mechanical watch accurate, it hacks and has manual wind. The lume is GREAT. Power reserve is decent I can take it off and it will run a full day and stop day 2 not being worn. The stock strap is possibly the only complaint, but at this price-point it's hard to expect more. This is not a big deal to me as I have a collection of nato straps. If that's not your thing, get a strap-code strap which may seem spendy but even then you'll be just over $200 all in and it will feel amazing. Bang for your buck? Look no further. This is the king of budget divers.

Decepcion,
Compre un reloj Japones y llego uno fabricado en Thailand , mal decepcionado, poco riguroso el control de Calidad, aconsejaria revisar la autenticidad del reloj.

Lovely watch, strongly recommend.
An excellent entry automatic watch! Two of my dear friends and I bought the same model and we are all equally happy about it!Cons:- I was the unlucky of us and received a watch which has a very hard to turn bezel. However this does not bother me at all since I have very longnails and have no problem with squezzing the bezel grip with my nails and slowly but surely turning it. My two firends do not have this problem.- The bezel does not line up perfectly, that's alright.- The seconds hand does bother since the amount of lume applied to it is not enough for one to read of off it after perhaps 15 minutes of darkness.I would prefer it without any lume at all, for example like the Hamilton Khaki Field.Pros:- Looks great!- Extremly much value for money, you arguably cannot get a finer watch (bought new) with that amount of money- Mine keeps extremly good time, about 4,5 seconds off of each day.Overall I strongly recommend this watch for anyone who has needs a good relatively cheap diver

Beautiful Watch, doesn't handle water well.
This has been my go-to watch since December of 2018. I loved it, unfortunately it wasn't able to handle the surf in Hawaii, and its now showing some pretty major water damage. The claims regarding its suitability to surface level water activities haven't been accurate in my experience. I reached out to Orient and hope they can help me out!

Best watch for the money on the market.
You won't find a better value. I've had a mako (same watch, different dial) for 3 years and it's been awesome. I've been wearing the ray for a few days now and it's running +2 seconds a day just like my mako. If you're used to quartz watches that might not sound impressive but for a mechanical watch at this price that's pretty unheard of. The strap isn't very good so go ahead and get a Barton elite or whatever brand you prefer and be done with it. If you want to really max out the value of this watch just pop in a sapphire crystal for 35 bucks along with the Barton elite strap and you've got a genuine world beater for well under $200.
