Please note that (at only 25% alcohol), this liqueur is actually formulated to be a sweet, after-dinner liqueur that relaxes the taste buds. It is NOT a Poire William Eaux de Vie at around 40% alcohol that is a spirit-drink formulated to satisfy with a powerful taste of pears coupled to an icy alcoholic 'kick' as it is drunk very cold.However, I feel that Giffard have missed a trick with this product. I feel it should be made at around 35% alcohol with slighty less sweetness & a boost to the pear flavour & esters. This would make it perfect. As it is, it still works well enough if consumed when icy cold as its aromas & flavour are very well defined & pleasing to the taste buds.
