I received it, washed it and used it the same day. The wire snapped during the first use. It didn’t even last more than a couple of hours.

Infinitely better than a knife!
I was scared to work with layer cakes before because I fail miserably in leveling cakes. Ruler and knife just do not work for me! I can't do it! I decided to give this a try and boy I feel like I am an expert cake maker. It's so easy to use and it works perfectly. So far I have tried it on white almond sour cream cake and it has done great. I was able to do a checkerboard cake and I couldn't imagine pulling it off before. Can't wait to make more fabulous cakes! If you suck at leveling cakes, do not hesitate to get this tool! I promise you are going to love it!Update 4/24/17- I have used this cake leveler several times with different cake recipes and it levels cakes perfectly every time. I love it so much. For those who are saying that this leveler shreds cakes, you need to make sure that the cakes are completely cool. I always freeze my cakes before leveling. I usually make them days ahead, freeze then thaw for two hours before leveling. This method works like a charm. If you need the cakes the same day here what is you need to do after the cake comes out of the oven 1.) invert the cakes after 10 mins. 2.) cool them on a cooling rack for an hour 3.) wrap them in saran wrap and freeze for an hour 4.) take them out of the freezer and level. The chocolate cake I posted with my review is really moist but the cake leveler still worked. I didn't have a problem at all. I love love love this cake leveler and I can't live without it now. Goodbye cake domes and uneven cake layers!
