Full sunlight for 10 hours will get the string through most of the night. A little shade cuts that to about a third of the night. An overcast day will get you maybe 30 minutes at best. I've had to add a 1200 ohm resistor to one string (the lights are now barely visible) and an oversized solar panel to help it with overcast days--still maybe an hour at night? One thing is for sure--the NiMH battery inside with "500 Reuse" label means it will only last a year and a half. My regular lithium-ion solar lights have been working for years. I know what will happen--I'll eventually hook up an old solar light with burnt out LEDs to one of the light strings. That should get it through the night.

I bought these lights to replace some I've had up under my porch for over a year. We'll see how long these last, but they're beautiful and a very nice length. The warm white color is great and I like all the different settings to choose from. With the copper wire, these would be great in craft projects, where the wire would show and look great with the little lights in a vase or showcase of some sort.

I have now purchased six of these lights, and when they work they are very nice. Unfortunately within a few months I have already had two of them fail, which is not very nice since they are already installed around my palm trees. I cannot find a break in the wire so I assume the battery or controller has gone bad.

I loved the blinking patterns and the intensity of the lights, it's not too bright but you can see it from about 20 feet away. I bought it cuz it's waterproof so I can put it outside for fun... until it stopped working after 3 days. It wasn't even in direct rain, maybe it was the humidity? Money wasted :(

We had an old wheel rim and came up with the idea of putting lights on it. These lights are easy to work with, beautiful from every direction and the different flashing modes are fun to change to get a different effect. Love them so much we bought another set to put on the cactus in the picture. Can't wait to get them and do more decorating. The first day we got these we had them up by afternoon and at 5AM they were still flashing. Perfect lights!

As I am completing running the first of 2 strings I’m one light from the power source (the way the wire is spooled you unwind toward the power supply so you end up starting at the end of your run) and of the two wires is broke. Wasted time because the string is shipped defective.

They work well, i have them outside. It's a bit tricky to test them when its daylight (put a box over the control unit so it gets really dark), it would help if there was a button for that.

These twinkle light charged in the sun, and lasted way past the party hours. They were perfect! Dantie in size they are a cooler or trendier look than just normal twinkle light. I purchased 3 strands than went around a 100 person tent beautifully. I am going to use these again and again!! So glad I purchased these they were a beautiful addition to our amazing party event!!
