This really helped improve my sleep quality when I was having some issues with daily stress. Worked very quickly and helped me maintain a deeper sleep for at least 7 hours. Think of it as drinking a concentrated cup of warm milk :) Taste is fine. Easy on stomach.

As far as the product is concerned, I like it quite a bit. The effects are very subtle so if you are expecting some major change you will be disappointed. What they do give is a slight but definitely noticeable calming effect that can slightly (moderately) enhance sleep. If that is all you need or if you wish to add this as an adjunct to something else, then this will be very good for you. There are no side effects at all. I hope this helps.

I've noticed several negative reviews of this product and want to chime in. If you're expecting it to make you sleepy, it won't do that, or at least that's not what it does for me. But if, like me, you don't have trouble falling asleep but wake up in the wee hours of the morning with trouble getting back to sleep, I encourage you to give it a try. While it doesn't make me sleepy, it helps me quiet the chatter that my left brain often gets into when I wake up in the middle of the night. The result is subtle, but real: It helps me focus on the present, and sink back into sleep. I can "override" that effect by consciously persisting in fretting about the past or trying to plan out the future, but the gift of this supplement is that when I stop myself from doing that and try to re-focus on the present, it helps me stay there, and I fall back to sleep naturally. Later comments: Alas, I have to revise this review. I've found that, over the months of having interrupted sleep, I rarely reach for this product to help me fall asleep again -- at least not if I'm wide awake to the point where I have to turn on the light and read. I think it's helpful during those instances where I'm just not quite sleepy enough, but not beyond that.

I stumbled upon this product, as I was trying to help my young teenager with sleep issues. It works wonderfully, and is a a great alternative for parents who aren't comfortable giving kids melatonin, etc. .It is side effect free, and as safe as drinking milk. The capsules are quite small, but you can emty one into warm milk if necessary. Also, you sometimes need to take more than one capsule during acute stress,etc. Lactium.com has a great explanation of the product and dosages. Overall, I highly recommend this safe and effective product.

This item took a long time to arrive. I'm guessing it was not shipped from Amazon. I took two before bed, but I found no help for insomnia: I slept late and woke early, and I had taken two capsules. Life Extension makes two preparations of this formula, one a single supplement as this one and the other including Ashwagandha. Previously I tried the same formula that was mixed with Ashwagandha, and I did notice help for sleep. So, maybe the benefit was the Ashwagandha.

I would take one capsule every night. These make a significant difference in my ability to get a good night's sleep, but it was mild in that I could still wake up if I heard a noise, etc. One night forgot to take one and for the first time in weeks I woke up at 2:30 and couldn't sleep. Even after reading an hour still couldn't sleep. In the morning I realized I hadn't taken the capsule. So they really work for me!
