The mask is very "life like" to the extend that a slightly smaller horse head on a human body can really be life like. It's not cartoony, it actually looks like a horse's head. The problem I have with it is that it seems like the "neck" is a little too short, meaning the mask rides high. It's not a problem for a young adult or a child, but it makes wearing it for extended periods of time difficult for an adult. I feel like I'm having problems breathing, and my glasses fog up quickly. That makes doing anything other than light walking a challenge, and I usually take it off a few minutes after I put it on. That being said, it's a fantastic novelty item - I walked into my child's daycare with it on and was instantly the start of the show. Helps if you can also sing the Mr. Ed song - because no one can talk to a horse, of course, unless that horse is not a horse at all but rather someone wearing a horse head. I expect I'll be having quite a bit of fun with it, even if I'll do it in short spurts.

I'm not sure what the complaining about the shipping is, it shipped from Kentucky (but it does say it's made in china) to Seattle in 2 days like the prime shipping said. The mask itself is hard to see out of, mostly because the eye holes are the horses mouth and nostrils. I swear this is the real one that you see in all the videos and stuff, and if it's not, well its a dang good knockoff! because it looks just like the ones in the videos and picture. The only possible problem is that it does smell like spray paint. I thought that people were making some mistake saying that it smells like spray paint and meaning to say something else, but it smells like freekin spray paint, however its odor is not that bad. It's just been here for about 5 minutes and I'm wearing as I type, and it's already scared the crap out of the kid that just walked in the door. This is definitely going to be my next big party item. i just might want to air it out before I go to any parties because the fumes might make me a bit sic if i wear it for more than a few hours. If you like partying and being a weirdo like myself... GET THIS ONE!!! its cheap and awesome. I'm also not sure what the other item in the picture is, but whatever it is, it's not in the box.

If I could rate this any higher I would. I can say without a doubt this was the best $15 ever spent. Co-workers, family members, and strangers were all skeptical... but once I received it and wore it... it brough a smile to all their skeptical faces. Seriously... you can bring so much joy to the world with this thing. I think everyone should have one. You can't fight with someone wearing a horse mask. It's just too dang funny. It would solve a lot of the world's problems if everyone just put on a horse head whenever conflict arose. If you have been thinking about jumping on the band wagon but didn't want to get stuck following the crowd... do it anyway... because even if you're alone by yourself you can put this sucker on and go for a completely anonymous walk and amuse yourself and others!

This mask looks great from the outside; quite humorous and believable from a distance. It does have several considerable shortcomings however. While wearing this mask you can only make out about 5 % field of view compared to normal. I expect to lose some peripheral vision with any mask but this one makes it damn near impossible to see where you're going or what you're doing.The inner coating has a strong smell and does not allow any air flow in or out, making it quite uncomfortable when wearing for longer than a couple of minutes. After a minute of breathing I can already feel the accumulation of moisture & heat on the inside.It's a fun mask to wear for a minute or two, but don't expect to go to a Halloween party or social function with this on or you'll likely end up either passing out or walking into something.Pros:- Humorous & realistic from a distance- CheapCons:- Virtually zero visibility- Zero air flow

Wear this to school for Halloween but be prepared: everyone wants to try it on! Photos of people wearing this mask are very weird, because the head looks real, even with the odd facial expression that comes along with it (needed to allow breathing). As a result, the mask has become a minor meme: A compendium of "best" horse head still shots can be seen on imgur: [...]LittleVMills even did a "horse head mask" video while playing one of his metal guitar solos... [...]When you get it, it will smell pretty strongly -- wipe out the interior with a pleasant-scented cleanser and prop it open in front of a fan to deodorize it for actual wear. Severely limited field of vision: do NOT drive in this thing, or cross streets, etc.

I purchased this horsehead because it was cheaper than the other listed at 20-30$, ended up waiting over a month for it to arrive - it was for my boyfriends birthday so I ended up buying the other on a quicker delivery... got his first and a few weeks let got this one. I compared to two, this one is slightly smaller - I wear a 7 1/4 hat, it is a bit snug on my head, and the horse hair appears glued on poorly, coming up along the sides of the mane. Overall, I didn't notice the drastic smell everyone was talking about, just the stench of rubber and plastic that's been in a confined space. Also, the back of this one is completely closed so it's a bit harder to get on than the other. In all, it works for the price but the quality was not impressive to me.

What can you say about a rubber horse mask?? Ok well its a little tight, kind of hard to see out of, and a little constricting. That said, this thing's creepiness factor is off the scale! Absolutely perfect for waking your spouse up in the morning or meeting the kids at the door after school! Wouldn't recommend wearing it while driving or operating dangerous machinery but it's still pretty cool
