So Comfy and my legs didn't swell
I am pregnant and noticed my ankles got swollen during a recent cross country flight (3hr flight). A friend told me to try some compression socks to help ease the swelling so I decided to buy these and the Pintoli Style 1020. During my last cross country flights, I wore the Pintoli to the destination (5hr flight) and the Futuro on the flight home (5hr flight). Here is the comparison of the two and my final decision:1. EASE OF USE: The Pintoli were thicker and hard to pull up and get flat (apparently wrinkles can cut off circulation). The Futuro were much easier to get on and felt more like putting on trouser socks.2. FIT: The Pintoli were TIGHT. My toes were tight, my heel was tight, my calves were tight, etc... You definitely know you are wearing compression socks. The Futuro felt supportive, but not to the point that I noticed anything different that just wearing long socks. Also, the toe had extra room so it wasn't squeezing all my toes together. The distinctive heel also had extra room for comfort.3. COMFORT: After about 2hrs into my flight, the Pintoli felt like I was overheating because they were so hot. I was almost so hot that I wanted to take them off. I convinced myself that this would defeat the purpose of the compression socks so I kept them on, but I definitely noticed they were there and I was not relaxed. The Futuro was not like this. They were breathable so they were not hot at all and it really just felt like normal socks.CONCLUSION: BUY THE FUTURO. I know they are more expensive, but they have a design which makes them feel like regular socks, they fit like regular socks, and they are comfy. I plan on buying another pair hopefully in another color to replace the Pintoli pair I bought.

My Second Choice--But Worth Getting Anyway
I was very happy to get these--as in my area, I have only been able to get the sheer ones for a while. They were fairly priced, though not a tremendous bargain, and they are comfortable socks that give a consistent level of support from toes to knees. The only drawbacks I have found with the Futuro vs. the Jobst compression socks I prefer come in the fit. While these are purported to be my "size", they tend to bind slightly on my feet, and they can be difficult to pull up without wrinkling if you have problems with hand strength as I do. Unfortunately, I bought the next size up in the past and they didn't work--not enough support. Also, the tops of Futuro socks in general (and these are no exception), are too thin--as such, they tend to roll right at the top of the calf and bite into my calves rather deeply over time, and they also will crease at the ankle over the course of the day. That being said, they are a decent though not amazing choice for the hotter time of the year, or times when you have to wear snug fitting shoes or dress hoes. The diamond pattern is quite attractive. For winter, I will be buying a few pairs of my favorite sock--Jobst--which are preferable for me as the tops don't roll down and they fit my feet better. If they weren't twice as expensive, and too heavy for the Arizona summer and fall, I would wear them year round--but Futuro is a good summer and dress sock substitute.

nice sox --a little long for short people
I like these sox --the fabric used and the way the top of the hose is smooth and doesn't curl over. However at 5'1" these soxs are a bit too long for me--wish they would come in a "petite" length.

I just keep buying them
My dad has varicose vains. And me, as a woman, i don’t want to get as many as him. So now when sitting for most of the day or standing for long periods of time or dancing for hours or traveling... i put these on! I have a dozen of ‘em now

Excellent for small feet, but too small for big feet!
[UPDATE: The occupational therapist visited recently and showed me an easy way to put on support socks, which was shown to her by an Army nurse. Turn he sock inside-out and push the toe up to the heel inside the tube formed by the leg. Then you only need to focus on getting the toe and heel part of the sock onto the foot. Another way to do this is to pull the sock over your arm so that your hand is where the foot goes, and then pull the leg part of the sock downward and over your hand, followed by extracting your hand. The leg part of the sock which will then be over the foot part of the sock is wider, and the foot part is shorter, hence it is easier to stretch the foot part, which you can bunch from the heel so that you are only stretching the toe part at first. Once the sock is on the foot from toe to heel, you then can begin stretching moving the leg part upward. This is the easiest way to put on this type of support stock, and once you practice it a few times, it becomes easier. ]I got two pairs for Mother after trying the Futuro Revitalizing Men's X-Large Firm support socks for myself and being very pleased with them, but I did not know which size to get for Mother, so I ordered one pair of Medium and one pair of Large Futuro Revitalizing Socks for Women, Black Diamond Pattern, Medium, and they arrived today on time, of course, since we have Amazon Prime.Apparently, the women in our family have big feet, because the Medium socks have feet that when folded as they come in the box are 6.75" from heel to toe and 2.5" high, while the Large socks are 7.5" from heel to toe and 3" wide, which in our family is too small for a great-grandchild in kindergarten. So, rather than try the Women's support socks, I tried one of the pair I wear, and they were not so easy to get over Mother's feet, but with a bit of work I did it, where it mostly is a matter of being very careful, since Mother is in her 90's, and it is not practical to pull on the socks the way I do when I put them on my feet and legs.Consequently, if you are purchasing the socks for a younger woman who has tiny feet and can tolerate the pressure of the Futuro Revitalizing Socks for Women, then great, but if you are purchasing these for a elderly parent who has larger feet, then I would start with the Futuro Revitalizing Men's X-Large Firm support socks and work downward to Large, Medium, or Small as needed, since the support socks only work if you can get them on the person without hurting or injuring their feet or legs.Because the socks are sealed in an airtight plastic container, you cannot return them, which makes sense, because nobody wants to buy socks that someone else wore, but since the price of these support socks is perhaps 1/5th of what prescription support socks cost, who cares, because if you get two or three different sizes before you find the size that works, you are saving money, and you can give the support socks that were too big or too small to someone who can use them. If you have home health care, then one of the nurses probably has a client who can use the support socks that did not fit.For reference, Mother wears men's size 9W S.A.S. shoes, so I should have connected the dots, but I thought that the Large size for women would work, except that as noted they were entirely too small, and the Medium size was even smaller. My experience tends to suggest that women nearly always think their feet are smaller than they actually are, so unless you or the person for whom you are getting these socks has really tiny feet, I would get the Futuro support socks for men, because the Futuro Revitalizing Trouser Socks for Women, Medium and Large size support socks look to me like socks that would fit a little girl in one of the elementary grades. The problem is not so much a matter of the way the support socks fit and work once they are on. Instead, it is a matter of getting them on the feet and legs without bruising, straining, or injuring yourself or the person you are helping, and to put the amount of effort required to put on support socks in general, I can hold a plastic gallon milk container filled with water on each of my thumb, index finger, middle finger, and little finger at the same time (four gallons of water total), due mostly to playing guitar and bass and having strong hands and fingers, so it is not a matter of having insufficient hand and finger strength. These are strong elastic socks and it requires a good bit of hand and finger strength to put them on.If you need more support than comes from a larger size of men's support socks, then if the men's support socks provide some compression but not quite enough, then wear two pairs, one on top of the other, which should be considerably easier to put on and will increase the total compression by perhaps 50 percent compared to wearing only one pair, where in this strategy you put on the first pair and then put on the second pair rather than trying to put on two pairs at one time, and rolling the tops first tends to make it easier, where you make a ring; stretch it; and use it to get the foot part on.

Comfortable compression socks!
I stand at least 8 hours a day for work and I work full time. I have been wearing these for years and it's great! My legs don't feel as tired and the material is tight but not so tight and thick that it bites into the skin or leaves marks as other compression socks do.

Wore these at work while I was pregnant. They worked great. A little harder to get on near the last few weeks, but they are compression socks after all!
