The study guide is very well constructed with the answers separate from the actual test questions, making it easier to study in real time, as one would need if taking the actual test. I find its test-type presentation helpful,with test questions on a range of subjects consistent with similar percentages as given by the ANCC Testing Center for the early 2019 exam.

I used the Med-surg review book that I ordered from Mometrix to help prepare me for the Med-surg certification examination. The test booklet itself is two practice exams which was very helpful. I treated both practice tests as if they were exams, and held "mock exams" at my kitchen table. I really appreciated having the answers so that I could better understand what I didn't know, and review different areas that I needed more practice in. There were also several mnemonics that I did not know that were in the explanations that I found useful. Overall I would recommend this book to other nurses that are looking to study for and take the Med-surg certification exam.

So far I’m loving it, although I haven’t taken my test yet which would be the 2nd time. However, going through the materials I feel that had I used this book before taking the med-surg exam my chances of passing would definitely be higher. The questions are very similar to what’s on the exam just wish it had more questions.

It's a pretty steep price for the book but, in the end, it was highly worth it.Many of these questions were on the actual exam only worded differently and the rationales were all great. I would recommend alone as a study guide if you have at least five years floor experience.I took the exam today and I'd say basic clinical experience will give you a great edge to easily pass this test. Really internalizing​ the material in this questions will give you an even greater chance so I'd highly recommend it

Took and passed my CMSRN today using the yellow exam book sold here on Amazon and the two 150 question practice tests. Studied on and off for a couple months, using this to start. Focused my latter prep around the questions and question taking strategies. My lowest score on the exam was 85%. These practice tests are very helpful, take them seriously and study them. My score on these exams was 71% and 70%

I think the questions were thought provoking and the explanations provided a clear rational as why each answer was the best choice.I believe these practice questions have been helpful to me in my review for the Med-Surg certification exam but I would have liked to see additional questions on nursing theory. Other than that, the material in the Mometrix test preparation have met my needs.

I received this product several days ago and I am impressed with the questions and the explanations. The explanations make it easy to understand why the question was answered incorrectly. I am confident that this product will help me prepare for the exam. Many of my co-workers used this to study for the test and they passed the first try.I purchased this book a second time.I used this book 2 years ago when taking my med surg exam and it helped tremendously.

I purchased this obviously for my prep for the CMSRN exam. There are 2 sets of practice tests, 150 questions each set. The rationales are okay. There are 2-4 questions in the entire book that have answers that I don't agree on (still emphasizes ABCs [airway,breathing,circulation]when the right thing to prioritize now are the CABs).If your study style are Q&As, this is a good supplement to your study materials.
