DoorJammer Portable Door Lock Brace for Home Security and Personal Protection (DJ4LD - DoorJammer (Lockdown))

Have only tested this out at home so far, but was easy to install and did the job. I travel a lot on my own and locking mechanisms on doors seem to be of variable sturdiness. I had an alarmed doorstop, but there is not always enough clearance under the door to use it. This is very sturdy construction. I bought the £39 version which appears to be endorsed by the police. It is very easy to install and operate. We tested it out at home and my partner couldn't budge the door at all. I think this will do a lot for peace of mind. It is a little bulky and heavy, especially if you have it in hand luggage, but I am very happy to put up with that.

I bought the larger version of the DoorJammer and it's an extremely capable piece of kit.It's quickly and easily fitted to various inward-opening doors in rooms with both carpeted and hard floors, though I haven't attempted to fit it in a room above a loose-fitting mat; I guess it would be less effective in this case.This larger version comes with a set of various sized plastic wedges which fit in any available space over the top of the door, making the whole installation even more tight and secure.The DoorJammer is fairly weighty, about 890g, so is a consideration if you're carrying it on a plane journey.It does not claim to be a replacement for a standard door lock, but I'd say you'd have difficulty in easily getting past one of these devices that had been properly fitted!I guess my only concern is that it might prove to be a fire hazard, but the instructions state that the device can be quickly removed in an emergency by sharply pulling it upwards and away from the bottom of the door. I haven't actually attempted to do this but it looks to me like that would work.Fairly obviously, this shouldn't be fitted to an emergency door or a fire door. I'd say that it's an indispensable device for anyone regularly using hotels where security might be an issue.An impressive piece of kit.

Really not that easy to locate as the soft curve of the bend where it fits under the door causes it to push outwards from the door.You need to be able to push it hard under the door, while ensuring the foot stays in place, as you wind it tighter. Basically you need three hands!As a disabled user it means I'm a lot less able to use this piece of equipment and at time of writing I've almost stopped bothering because it's such a faff.The only reason I've given two stars is because if I have help, with my son or wife preventing its slipping out while I tighten it, it is actually bloody strong construction and does make the door one that would be unlikely to allow entry.Just needs a bit or a re-think on that bend to stop it slipping out during fitting.

So this product I have mixed reviews on.I was going to London for a few weeks for work and was being put into a house share. So I wanted to make sure that even with having a lock on the door that I would have extra security.It’s very heavy so I took it in my hand luggage and despite getting pulled to the side for it to be reviewed by security I got it through no problem.I did use it every night and felt much safer having it on the door but honestly couldn’t really test it. When using it I did find it confusing. It was very easy and quick to install but the more I turned on the vice the more it would rise under the door and then come out.Will try and properly test this and edit my review but overall it was definitely made of strong materials as it was very heavy. Bulky to carry about but made me feel safe as a female in a house share.

This thing is excellent. Obviously it’s effectovity depends on your threat model, but unless the person trying to get in has a a battering ram you’re pretty much safe… and even if they do it will buy you a few minutes. Easy to use, great value, no complaints!

Well... Another bait marketing....... 1)they dont fit all doors at all..(thickness wise) ... 2) the extension part only comes with the small size....... 3) it takes forever to install........... Or you may think its fit then try it and be shocked that it wont wind air because it slides...... 4)doesn't fit all floors..... 5) my friend is a builder,,,,, so he was trying for less than a minute to figure out what jamming the door, without him knowing,,,,,,,,, he literally looked in the gap underneath the door and with one stroke of a heavy deauty screw driver to the bottom of the door to the grip (door bit) jammer came off easily.... Terrible do not rely on it for security of your fam or loved ones.... Thnx for the refund amazon

As my wife travels for business, I brought her this door jammer (lockdown version). It’s very easy and quick to use. Comes with instructions and you can have this set up within a minute. It’s a little heavy and can easily fit into a small bag.

I absolutely love this. The door will not budge with this behind it. It's strong and sturdy and easy to install. I even got my family members to buy some for themselves.

My wife is a school teacher and this gives her peace of mind. Great to take to hotels too, since we’ve experienced someone walking into our room one night!

It works well especially for French doors. I bought the bigger one. My main complaint is the ridiculous price. I would have bought a couple more but I don’t think they are worth $50.

At first it seemed really sturdy.. but now that we have used it daily for the last 4 months (living out of hotels sucks) it has deteriorated quickly. The sandpaper which keeps it sturdily latched to the door, completely gone. And in the last two weeks the base has completely separated from the "screw" in extender....Bad quality.Tried to contact manufacturer and was not met with any support.
