Who'd have thought you could use it to make gyros???
I like grilling, and I like my rotisserie, so a hexagonal spit basket sounded like it would be a good addition to my bbq toolbox. However, I had read a lot of negative reviews of products of this type from other manufacturers, (check out the comments that have been left for the Napoleon Rotisserie 64003 Tumble Basket, Non-stick or the GrillPro 24764 Non-Stick Tumble Basket ).At first glance, the OneGrill product looked the same as the others, but it had no comments at all, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Look closely at the picture of this product & you'll see that this is made up of two (identical) half-cages, each of which has a screw at one end, and a hole (OK - a bent bar) at the other end. You put the two halves face to face, thread the spit through the holes and tighten the screws. There's not a lot to go wrong. These cages are mostly intended to be used for making grilled vegetables, and I'm sure they do that well enough. But I found a different purpose for mine that you may want to consider. I am a big fan of Alton Brown's "Good Eats" TV show, and I was especially enthralled by his program about making Gyros at home (it's on youtube with a title something like 'my big fat greek sandwich"). Essentially, his recipe calls for you to make a kind of a lamb meatloaf, skewer it and put it on a rotisserie (and I'm talking about a horizontal rotisserie, since most of us don't have a vertical unit like the ones you see in Greek restaurants). According to the comments on the foodnetwork site, a number of people who tried it found that the meatloaf fell apart while it was turning on the spit. Not good....Enter the OneGrill basket. I made the loaf per Brown's recipe, and put it in the cage before skewering it. The cage holds the meat together so there is no danger of the gyros loaf tumbling down into the firebox while you're cooking. The results were nothing short of amazing. Now admittedly, the cage is HOT when you take it off the grill, and taking it apart while it's hot can be a problem - so it doesn't address all the complaints about the Napoleon & GrillPro cages - but hey - you're barbecuing, what do you expect?.. I suspect I'm going to find a lot more uses for this thing.

Seller Great Product bad
Nothing wrong with the seller. The product itself is of poor quality. Was hoping it was like my last grill basket in that it was hinged. That was not the case with this product. came in two halves and was hard to get cinched together and when done you have to pull the rotisserie rod out to open and the items inside went every where. Also smaller pieces fall through the gaps in the wire. I needed to cover with screen which took me the better part of 2 hours to do. A better product to buy is the George Foreman rotisserie. It has a hinged door and small screen where materiel does not fall out

Should have come with intructions of how to use it.
One you figure out how the two half's go together,it works well. Cleaning takes a while. I usually soak them overnight to make it easier.

Who engineered this? Homer Simpson?
As others have said the slots are too big, the food falls out! Last night I did sausage, chunks of beef, pablano peppers cut in half, potatoes a little less than golf ball size. by the time the cook was done the sausage was the only thing left in the basket. This needed another 4 or 5 bars of steel across the unit. Especially troubling is the sides of the unit. the gaps there are even larger. I am going to have to rig up a template and attach to each end.Disappointing, the fill it cylynder basket is the way to go but I am not paying $70, that is absurd. I would sooner add an Old Smokey to my collection of grills than spend that kind of money on a rotisserie basket.

Maybe Not Best for Wings...
After seeing some Rotisserie Wings on the Kamado Forum I ordered this Basket. I should have read the reviews, there's areas on the basket where Wing Flats can and Will Fall Out. Out of 3 Lbs I lost a total of 7 Wing Flats. It's also a little confusing how it locks together. I'd suggest adding some small SS (Tig) wire to a couple areas. The over all construction is OK and I think it's OK for the price.

Not the best
As others have noted, this item comes with no instructions, fits loosely, and cannot be used for veges, etc as it moves from side to side as it tumbles, exposing a relatively large gap. Works well for large items, such as chicken legs, etc., which is what we bought it for, so it gets three stars. Looks like you have to move way up to the next level to get one that really works. We are using this on 22" Weber with rotisserre.
