A mobile phone is not capable of reading pet RFID chips on it's own. This device plugs into the phone and enables the implanted microchip to be read. Some have commented that after downloading the app, the phone would not scan without the purchase of a plug in scanner. The scanner is £10, yes a tenner!I think this is well worth buying and keeping in the car if you ever find a dead or injured pet. There are no batteries required as it runs from the power of the phone. Some phones can scan RFID cards etc, but NOT pet microchips as these operate on a different frequency.

If anyone tells you this product doesn't work they didn't use it with the correct app or they didnt know what they were doing.This was simple to understand, the app is easy to use and the scanner is not only compact but very accurate.Don't be put off with how little it costs because it works just as well as the scanners costing close to £50

Didn't work on OnePlus 2 because the otg is incompatible. But worked on other devices.

When first I tried it on a slightly restless feline friend, it seemed to briefly indicate the presence of a response on screen, which promptly vanished! When subsequently tried on the same little friend, while he was sleeping, so I had the possibility of more accurate location of the scanner, I could not get any indication that a chip was present. I do know that he has had a chip for 13 years. Does the fault lay with the scanner, or is the chip faulty? Can't say at present, no other furry friend around to try it with. So no conclusion at this stage!! Bit disappointed not to be able to give it 5 *.

Followed the instructions. Downloaded the app first, installed it, no compatibility warnings. Bought the reader, connected it, not detected by my phone. Tried it in another phone (with an adapter since it's an older phone and doesn't have USB-C), still didn't work.Not impressed, waste of money and to cap it all they demand full postal addresses and telephone numbers before you can even sign in to the app - what for... nobody says. In the days of GDPR, that just isn't good enough.Wouldn't recommend this I'm afraid - good idea, badly executed.

Not totally easy to set up with its app but it will without too much difficulty. You do need to search the areas where a chip might be carefully but it will respond quickly when you are on target and is accurate. A good solution for an effective but cheap way to check a chip.

This is a fantastic product, please don’t be put off by the 1 star reviews on here and also the AppStore market places.Thousands of pets go missing and often their only way home is through a microchip.Chip readers are normally quite expensive but this device is cheap enough that anyone can own one.This only works with android devices at the moment so I really hope they bring out an iOS version soon.

I use this product to find out if stray cats have microchips so they can be reunited with their owners. It is easy to use and supplies the information required.The speed of delivery and service was excellent.

Absolutely rubbish, app never works, no possibility to just import the raw number into text, needs internet connection when reading and the app crashes all the time. The device itself is bent. Also: when the app does not crash: you have to keep the device exactly over the animals microchip for about 15-30seconds. Do not move it, or the app will crash. The detection range is approximately one centimeter. With my own dog and cat I know where the chip is, even then I have found it only sometimes. Device is definitely not to be trusted finding a microchip.

Super, pour le prix suis ravie de ce produit. J'ai deux chats puces, laissés par mon voisin. Mes chats sonr frère et sœur, et sont au nom de ce voisin qui a déménagé en me laissant ses deux chats. Pour faire le changement de propriétaire sur le fichier i cad je voulais deja avoir leur numéro de puce. Et ça a fonctionné, je les ai bien maintenant. Pour la femelle ça marché direct rapidement. Par contre pour son frère j'ai eu un peu plus de mal. J'ai d'abord même cru qu'il n'était pas pucé. Ensuite j'ai cherché sur internet où était implantée la puce et j'ai trouvé, sur le côté gauche, dans le coup, près de la jugulaire. Et après 3 ou 4 essais ça a enfin marché. J'ai donc les 2 numero.Pour l'application, évidemment, il n'a pas été trouvé de correspondance. Je crois que ça fonctionne en Grande Bretagne. Mais j'ai voulu les enregistrer manuellement mais je n'ai pas encore réussit. Je suis bloquée car l'appli demande le numéro de licence de l'élevage, je crois, et je n'ai pas cette info. Ou alors je m'y suis mal pris pour faire cet enregistrement. Voilà où j'an suis, mais dans l'ensemble suis contente, l'appareil a bien fonctionné. Merci

Found the microchip number in a few seconds. Customer service was amazing! I would like to point out some things to help people out though. Make sure your USB is enabled on your device, mine was not. If you have a problem, contact them like a normal human, not blazing mad. It seems like this is still a fairly small company, but they resolve issues really quickly and professionally. Next, yes, your information could be provided to the person that finds your pet. For me, this is a positive, for other people, its a privacy issue. If this isn't something you want, don't register your pet with the app, it's that simple. IMO, this is a really positive tool for the pet community and I am really excited to see the evolution of this company. Can't wait for bluetooth!
