Heathrow Scientific HEA20631B Vacuum/Pressure Bulb without Tubing, 85mL Capacity, Rubber

F& P washers are exquisitely well designed for casual handyman level user replacement of their wearable component parts. Our pump motor gave up recently (10+ years service) . this piece is a nearly tool-less drop in replacement part. you will need a Phillips head screwdriver, possibly a set of needlenose pliers if the bladed wiring connections are stubborn. there are several vids on YT that attempt to show service/maint of these pump motors. Most are flawed, but they do correctly show removal and installation procedures. That is all the info you need with a new motor in hand. FWIW, much of the bearing problem that causes the squeal/screech can be addressed. Motor can be fully disassembled to free up the bearings. these bearings are Oilite beads and can be "refilled" with straight nondetergent oil using a vacuum pump brake bleeder reservoir. but for a C-note, the new motor provides peace of mind. same ease of repair comments apply to F&P diverter valve assy install and the basket suspension rods if you ever need to take on those tasks.

These are identical to the $45 unit sold for soil density volumeters by that well known H-company. The pressure fittings from your old pump fit over the nylon fittings on these bulbs and you save over $40 each! DUH! Advice for all: put a string or elastic band on your pump bulbs to keep it out of the dirt and you won't have pump failures. The tiny silicone valves in all of them can NOT tolerate even a grain of sand.

It work fine with water but we bought it to pump fake blood in a Halloween prop. The fake blood was not much thicker than water and the reservoir was only 32" below the table with the "patient" but the bulb vacuum was not strong enough to move it satisfactorily. It took 5 to 8 minutes to expand back to about 50% capacity and then did not fill more.

The rubber is very high quality, and the casting is robust and uniform. The polypropylene check valves are rubber slug type without springs so vertically position output upward for best results with air or gasses. Works well with water in any position for Higginson syringe. Check valves' tips are .330" dia. I have owned four different makes; this is the best one.

Worked great for my application. Used it as foot pump for outdoor hand washing station.

It's okay as long as you don't need to hold a vacuum without holding your thumb over the vent.

Two out of five was found to leak slightly and finally we have to seal the ends joints of both side with AA glue.

Just what I've been looking for and what I expected.Squeeze the ball and feel air rush out one end. Bluck the other end with a finger while you release the ball and feel the suction.
