For someone like me that has never done anything even close to what they do in this book its awesome! It makes it totally easy to understand with all the beautiful photos. I'm hoping one day to build a small Log Cabin on my Homestead and this book is just packed with understandable writing and photo's. It a must have if like me you want a reference standard to have while you are learning more about log cabins. This is a book for both a beginner to adviced woodsman. Thank you for this beautiful book on Log Cabins.

This is a very good book to have. We have been building for 20 years and got this book to have it to show city inspectors and others what the standards are in log construction. Great to have back up that we have been doing it right all these years!

The content is descent but the organization is horrible. I read this before buying but didn't listen to the reviews.

It's my own fault for not looking more in detail at the description. I was looking for a book on how to build a log cabin. This isn't exactly it. I use the word "book" loosely, it is only 70 pages long, much of that large pictures. The written parts are 2 columns per page with very short descriptions about the "common practice" for doing such and such. Okay if you know something about building a cabin, have taken a course, or read a more extensive book I guess. Not good as your first and only book on the subject.

It's ok and shows some technical moves in use of logs.

Really good book to read before starting a log cabine. It gives tricks to do during construction.
