Perfect for turning a formal dress into a corset backed ...
Perfect for turning a formal dress into a corset backed dress. I modified 2 old prom/formal gowns into usable dresses for Mardi Gras formal events for a friend. It works well, is easy to cut and sew and arrived quickly. It appears to be the exact same material as Dritz' Flexicurve boning but is much less expensive. I couldn't find any of the Dritz locally, so was pleased to find the product online and cheaper by the yard. Please note, this is not a firm corset boning but works well for some structure. How to use to convert a dress that is too small into a corset: rip out the zipper, replace with this boning in between the gown and the lining, sew on loops (about 1" length of loop material, but sewn in place about 1/2" to make the loop curve out for the ribbon) along the length of the opening, use a heavy ribbon or sew a fabric tie and lace up as a corset.

Worked LIke A Charm
I needed some 1/2 inch boning to make a nursing cover for my daughter-in-law. I had a hard time finding boning that size and was pleasantly surprised that Amazon had it on their site. The vendor got it to me in about a week which was faster than I expected. It was very reasonably priced and sewed very nicely on my machine. Now all I have to do is find a use for the remaining 11 1/3 yards!

so I used sturdy, stick-on Velcro to join the ends
I used this product to make a hoop slip for my granddaughter's latest Disney Princess gown. The Rigilene needed to be removable for shipping and laundering, so I used sturdy, stick-on Velcro to join the ends.I also liked the size of the 12-yd package. The hoop slip took much more than I'd have thought, and a second row above made it perfect.

I used it for paniers ( like a hoop skirt
This boning is lightweight. It is made with several plastic cords sewn together. I used it for paniers ( like a hoop skirt, but not). Prior experience has led me to sew folded muslin over the ends to prevent the plastic strands from poking through.

Perfect
I used this for nursing covers I made. Sturdy and just what I needed.Perhaps less quantity would have been a better purchase for me since now I have so much left over. Does anyone have ideas of how I can use the extra? Regardless, I liked the product. Thank you.

Perfect
I used to make a nursing cover and it worked perfectly. I did fold the fabric over and make a casing to put the boning in and sewed ribbon on the ends to soften them. Was able to sew through boning on sewing machine easily.
