Thank you, Lord Jesus!!!!
I sat down and read this book as soon as it came in the mail! Excellent.Learning God's word, learning what Jesus Christ did for us, learning that God's will is for His will to be done on earth just like it is in heaven, delivered me from depression, the deep dark pit of depression. I had to learn how to speak God's word and stop agreeing with the devil and repeating his words of death and fear. Love you bunches. Seek Him. Ask God to help you to learn how to think like He thinks. Read the Holy Bible. Pray and ask God to explain what you are reading, what it meant then, what it means now, and what you are supposed to do with it, in Jesus' name. Amen."by Whose stripes you were healed"! 1Peter2:24b"you were healed" by Jesus' stripes, those stripes that He took on His body when they brutally beat Him on the whipping post. Jesus Christ redeemed us from the power of sin, the kingdom of satan, that Adam, our great grandfather, sold us into. There was NO man on earth free to redeem us from Satan's prison because every man born had Adam for a father. So God Almighty, our Father, sent His SON, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from Satan's power of darkness. That is WHY Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came. God was His Father, not Adam. Jesus Christ was without sin, He was not a prisoner of Satan. THEREFORE, He could REDEEM us from Satan's power of darkness. Sickness is apart of Satan's power of darkness. The Lord Jesus Christ redeemed us, but we have to believe it without doubting. We have to hit the devil with the Word of God, we have to tell the devil that the Lord Jesus Christ redeemed us. God by sending Jesus Christ to take our place, to bear our sins, He delivered us from the power of darkness. God then transferred us into the kingdom of the risen Lord Jesus Christ who died to deliver us. We must testify to what the Lord Jesus Christ did for us. "Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you." James4:7.We submit to God by speaking what God's Word says Jesus Christ did for us. Christ has redeemed us from all the curse of the law. Galatians3:13.Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke10:19 . NKJV.Love Joyce's testimony!!!! No doubt!

Very Faith-building
I have wanted to get this book for over a year after watching the movie that I very much enjoyed. I wanted to see how closely the movie followed the actual events. The movie certainly followed the basic storyline quite closely, although the movie did add an antagonist (pastor) who was not an antagonist in the real account and did leave out some of the intense spiritual warfare that was going on. The book was much more faith-building than the movie because it clearly showed the battle to remain in faith for the miracle and showed step-by-step how that battle was won. I’m very glad that I was able to read this book.

A Truly Miraculous Story
This book was absolutely amazing!! I am a firm believer in miraculous healing by God. I have seen it with my own eyes. This book told the true story of John Smith by his mother, Joyce Smith. John was a 14 year old that fell through the ice and had no pulse for more than 60 minutes. The doctor was getting ready to pronounce John dead when Joyce got to the hospital. She prayed to God to allow the Holy Spirit to come into her son and restart his heart. As she is praying, John's heart starts beating again. The doctors did not give John's family much hope for him to survive and if he did, he would have brain damage. John's family, church, school, and town all prayed for John over those days. Joyce and their pastor, Jason, prayed over John's body for a good portion of those days. Sixteen days after the accident, John walked out of the hospital on his own and completely healed. This book is an eye awakening experience to the power of prayer. Doctor's and scientist can try to explain away what happened, but only God could miraculously restart a heartbeat of someone who has been dead for over an hour and heal him completely. I highly recommend this book to everyone!!

Praying is everything!
This book should be read by anyone and everyone who has ever prayed to God or considered talking to Him. Prayer brings us into a closer relationship with God. For anyone who needs encouragement to trust God's plan for each one of us, the story of John, a teenaged boy who drowned and died, yet came back into life, is validating and inspiring. The cold hard medical facts are fully explained, and nothing is candy-coated or stretched to create a truth. John's death is documented, but the prayers of his mother, the family, community, and countless others who learned about the incident under the ice, met need after need. Joyce Smith, John's mother, firmly and solidly proclaimed that God would intervene not just on that day of trauma, but into the full recovery of this miracle boy. Joyce chose to claim God's promises absolutely. Even if we do not realize the answer we want, God does answer and we come to sense that He is just and loving. Prayer changes our perspective even in unchanging circumstances. It is a blessing to read this full account of how prayer saved John and served to open the hearts of so many persons directly involved and beyond that community. The facts in Breakthrough are inspiring in light of God covering them with His mercy and grace!

Faith can move mountains.
We read this book in our book club. The story is quite amazing. I thought the author/mother was honest in her telling of the events, including her flaws. Why does God save some and not others is the crux of the matter. I think He moved her to pray and enabled her to pray like she did. I don’t think it was because she was special, but because she was willing. Faith can move mountains.

God is still doing miracles today!!!
A most powerful book of a mother's faith in the only God that is alive and hears our prayers. It was written to encourage those who find themselves in impossible circumstances, but if we sincerely seek Gods face and trust Him, then He can intervene and turn the impossible into possible!!!
