1.5mm HSS Gold Cobalt Jobber Drill Bit For Drilling Stainless Steel And Hard Steels/Metals. (1.5mm x 40mm Cobalt Jobber Drill)

I'm drilling holes in 5mm thick mild steel all day at work on a current project using a hand battery drill. I don't use a pilot drill and find these drills rarely need sharpening on the grind stone. A nice round accurate hole is produced every time .Don't allow the bit to overheat by use of a little coolant and not too much pressure and very good results are obtained.

The item arrived in good time in good packaging. I have used this to drill through 18 gauge stainless sheet and it worked well at first, but after 12 holes it started to slow up and get hot on the tip. It did not cut as well as when it was used in the first 6/7 holes.That said, it had done the job.

I bought this rather unusual sized drill bit to fit standard LED's into a hole without a bezel.When fitting LED's to a car dashboard or other thin plastic trim, this drillbit makes it much easier. When you fit an LED using the plastic mounting bezel it can make the LED easy to push back into the dash rendering them useless and a pain in the backside to retrieve.With this sized drill bit, the LED's take a bit of force to mount, but fit nice and snug which prevents all but the most determined finger pushing them backwards.
