Bennett Marine Bennett BOLT1812 BOLT Trim Tab System - 18" x 12"

Bennett makes great products but I received the hydraulic kit 249 despite ordering the electric kit BOLT249. The shipper was quick to respond and promptly issued a return label, and processed a full refund once the item was returned to them. I was able to find the correct BOLT249 kit at Hodges Marine in Florida and it was around $40 cheaper so all's well that ends well.

We have a 20 xpress center console. I didn't have room for the 9x12 that Bennett recommended for my boat and I was a little worried. The 4x12 was the only thing that would fit due to our swim ladder. I was looking to correct listing due to uneven load and maybe help with steering torque because I don't have hyd steering. These work perfectly, my boat is a completely different boat now. These have more than enough lift. I don't have to put them down very much to level the boat. They are really going to be a big help with wakeboarding behing this boat also.

How does something like this happen? I didn't hit anything,but I knew something was wrong when I started around a slight bend in the river and my boat almost capsized,I had to hurry and level the boat out using my up down button on my outshaft to straighten it up. Up to that point I was very satisfied very pleased in the way my boat handled it was a totally different boat,it level out and stayed on top.of the water really well so happy with the out come . But like I said it's cheaply made it needs re-inforcement around that area I installed it correctly. With not one leak. I'm not to happy with the control that I had to buy separately. After I installed it I found out that there's better control switches that have digital lights to show you where your trim taps are setting and this should have been recommended because the one I bought you don't have a clue,only when the boat is plained out on the water. There's times you need to adjust it for different reasons but to go back to where it was when it was on top.of the water planning good you have to reset it which takes sometime doing so. If I had the digital switches I could go right back to the best spot by the lights that run up and down the sides of both switches indicating where your tabs are setting. But the one I bought doesn't even show that and I paid like $90 for the switches. But I'm afraid that this company won't replace the one that broke, because Everytime I try to.reach anyone I'm asked to pay a monthly fee to join their app,and after that they will answer all my questions. But until I pay to join,I won't get my questions answered. I don't get it I paid close to $500 for this set up,first time out one breaks tried to get help from these people only to Incounter the fact that I have to pay to.join their website so I can get answers to my questions,so I cam hopefully get this replaced for free. But I doubt that if their going to charge you to speak with you a monthly fee. I shouldn't have to pay anything I paid enough when I bought this product. Great set of tabs. No hydraulics to deal with which made install painless. Worst part of install was measuring for actual tab placement. Boat handles so much better at both high and low speeds. Tabs respond very quickly which actually makes it easy to over correct, until you get the feel for them. A couple one second taps to the control switch is all you need to make most corrections required. The auto retract feature is pretty slick too. Kit had everything needed for install except control switch which was purchased seperatly.

Do not have the installation manual for the trim tab.

Smart design solid and effective on boat balancing

I have a 22' aluminum boat with a 135hp engine. With all my fishing gear and three passengers these tabs work great.It takes very little deflection of the tabs to level out the boat. And the reaction of the boat is immediate. Bow rise is greatlyreduced attaining plane.

Easy to install but garbage for last less then 2 years not worth it the money or product sorry I bought them better with hydraulic ones . Made in USA ha
