A Chorus Line: The Complete Book of the Musical (Applause Libretto Library)

I attended the Broadway run of "A Chorus Line" in 1975 as well as it's revival in Los Angeles in 2008. I loved the music, but for the first time I was able to read and understand the book and the lyrics and realized how much I didn't hear or comprehend when I sat there in the audience. Reading "A Chorus Line-the book of the musical" was a revelation and is now prominent among my Broadway reference library. Special thanks to James Kirkwood, Nicholas Dante for their book and Edward Kleban for his lyrics and their contribution to the music of Marvin Hamlisch and the vision of Michael Bennett.

This could possibly be the best musical ever created. This has the script and lyrics of the entire show in this book. This show has comedy by Shelia, fantastic rhyme schemes by the whole cast, a heart-renching monologue by Paul, and a terrific ballad by Diana. The book has numbers that did not even make it on the CD. Just an excellent piece to have if you collect this sort of thing. It's awesome and brilliant! If I could give it ten stars, then I would.

I've been a fan of this musical for most of my life, but have only been able to see it once. However, with this book I can still hear the actors and the songs they sang like I was back at the theatre.Also, the insightful analysis in the prologue provided an interesting review on the history of the musical and made it even richer for me.

Would definitely recommend! Very good read, so much there. Reading the show adds so much to your experience of seeing it!

I've seen the musical and loved it. I ordered the script because I was considering directing it for our school musical. The script has wonderful monologues that can be used in drama class for practice assignments and auditions. There is a variety of beautiful and catchy music that is unforgettable.

The best of the best ever to hit Broadway.

By the looks of the picture one would expect a cheap paperback, but this is actually nice quality. I really like how this book is made.

Very complete and accurate.

I love this musical, but the staging, with multiple simutaneous singing tracks and overlapping dialogue, always made it hard to match up who said or sang what. This is indispensible for serious fans of this groundbreaking smash musical.

Nothing to say about it. It is in good conditions. A book is a book. What else? I appreciated it
