Thought I’d try these as trying to purchase compostable capsules. While the flavour was nice (once I accessed the capsules properly) I had to resort to piercing the paper top with a cocktail stick as my Nespresso machine couldn’t do it. It almost broke my machine! Tweeted the makers to give them the feedback to no response. Guess it’ll be my first and last purchase.

Update 3/8 - I got in touch with Volcano and it seems they had issues with their older style capsules. They sent me the newer style and I can confirm they work perfectly in my Citiz now. The photo shows the old white capsule on the left and the newer style on the right.As others have said, the capsules don't work that well with my nespresso machine (Citiz). It then makes it hard to get a consistent drink - if you pierce the top manually, the drink can come out watery and tasteless. Shaking the capsule helps but it is also not a failsafe method.I've had about 2 decent shots of coffee out of 8 attempts. They are good when it works at least.

I decided to try these because I was looking for compostible pods and I’m familiar with Volcano Works’ coffee: we have it in the machine and in use by the barista bar at the office.I was *not* disappointed!The pods work fine in my Magimix Essenza mini machine. They don’t always eject so smoothly - the “fins” that pop out when the machine pushes into the base to inject the water do catch sometimes as it drops into the hopper - but it’s no huge inconvenience and it’s more than compensated for by the good coffee.This particular roast - balanced - is great as a milk-based coffee. The smoothness combines well.I also like that - and this is possibly because the compostible pods are a little porous - they are packed 5 together inside of a sealed packet (also compostible according to Volcano) which helps keep the flavour in until you go to use them.

I wish they'd worked better in my machine. If they had it would have been 5 stars !A fantastic flavour. Nutty, sweet with a medium high strength.My issue was the pods kept blocking my machine, causing it to stop. Despite cleaning the machine and all other varieties of pods working well, they kept blocking and stopping the Nespresso. Really disappointing as when the few trickles came through, they were wonderful.If I could guarantee them working, I would definitely buy them again. A genuinely unique flavour.

Comes with 3 different grinds, the 'Morning' one is the only one that is palatable, and honestly if i had just purchased 3 packs based on taste alone this would be a four star review - however I had issues with some of the pods not filling up the cup correctly - and reading the other reviews looks like i'm not the only one!!!

Unfortunately these did work well on our Nespresso coffee machine. The coffee dripped through at an extremely slow rate and then the machine produced a potentially dangerous spurt of steam. This has happened with all the capsules I've used. This could have been dangerous if my hand was on the machine. I would have returned them if I had got round to using them sooner. Not compatible with Nespresso....be warned!!

Flavour is nice enough, but the pods were temperamental in my nespresso machine... sometimes had to take out and drop back in several times before it worked.

All the "nespresso compatible" pods did not work! Put them into the machine got less than 10ml out then the water stopped coming out. I suspect the pods have been packed to tightly. Worked fine after with the original nespresso pods and Starbucks pods. I'm sure it may be award winning coffee but we'll never know with non-functioning pods. Don't waist your money!
