Gariz Genuine Leather XS-CHNEX6BKO Camera Metal Half Case for Sony NEX6 NEX-6 with Available USB Port Access, Black

I bought this because I'm allergic to the rubber grip of my Sony NEX-6. Adds about 3/8'' height to the body. It gives you access to all the I/O ports on the left side and the battery/memory card compartment. I have small fingers, so I haven't found it difficult to remove the memory card or battery with the case attached. Quality seems pretty good. Actually provides a more comfortable grip.Here's the catch:It attaches via your camera's native tripod mount. The case contains a tripod mount that's about an inch away from the camera's native one, sitting between the native mount and the battery compartment. That means that a detachable mount you screw into the case hole might partially cover up the battery compartment. Thus it makes changing batteries a much bigger hassle. Since I use this camera primarily for handheld photography, I don't mind this much, but it would be a major annoyance if I worked with a tripod more extensively. YMMV depending on tripod design. This partial body case looks terrific, it feels great in the hand. With the metal casing, I'm sure it offers great protection to the camera body. I'm under no delusion this partial case will offer any protection to the lens. If its raining, or your hands are slick it could be a drop problem. Every consideration was given to the access of the various ports and compartments. The adaptor for the tripod is a handy feature. The half case has all the quality and visual qualities you would expect, but I'm not sure it offers maximum protection of a really expensive camera for the money.
