We've used it for boiling water for pasta and heating up leftovers - it was surprisingly fast. You have to watch it for cooking on gas or it will burn! Had some rice and beans brown and stick, but caught it in time and it cleaned up with water. Looks like this puppy WILL save on the gas bill.The bottom is like a metal heat sink in a computer - thick aluminum fins. They are relatively sharp edged, so it feels and sounds like it's going to take the paint off your burner covers when you slide it across the stove. Or scratch your sink or countertops. Would be good if they adjusted the cast to have softer edges on the bottom.The handle is nice, comfortable, and seems to stay cool while cooking.Wish it was bigger. It's really smaller than I thought it was from the measurements someone listed - they should be making a 4 qt pasta boiler for heaven's sake. But I am tempted to get the stockpot. Wish it was a little less pricey though - the extra cost for the pot is basically a year's worth of gas...hmmmm...time vs. money...

Water boils in about half the time. A drawback is that sliding the pot around on the burner can't be done, due to the groves catching in the burner's standoff. I'm very glad I bought it. It has a permanent place on my stove top.

Love my new pot! Comes to boil at an amazing speed! So sad that the hole in the handle doesn’t fit my pot rack hooks. Would love to show it off with my other unique cooking vessels. Would buy it again.. 👍👍👍 recommendation

Needed a pot for boiling water quickly for Mac n cheese or other pasta for the kids. Works great. Comes clean easily.

The finned aluminum bottom is somewhat of a gimmick, although it does boil a quart of water 20 seconds faster than a pan without such. Otherwise, it's just a nice heavy (unlined) pan.

I have seen this pan before in professional kitchens and it design and heats up faster compared to conventional pans with flat bottoms
