This is a wind chime , not a breeze chime. It needs rather strong wind , which it can handle without getting battered or tangled. I have put a larger wind sail on mine to make it chime in less wind. It produces different notes depending on where the ball strikes the inside of the tube. Beautiful deep sound , something between a gong and a bell. Super quality . Will last forever . This is a very heavy chunk of steel. Be very sure that you know how to hang heavy objects . You would not want this thing to fall on someone.

This is one of the coolest things I have ever bought through Amazon. I read so many reviews on other chimes that I kept upgrading my choice. Still, I worried this might not be as good as it looked. Then the extra large box arrived, very heavy, very exciting! It's very big, which is as I hoped. The sound is deep and resonant. I moved an older, smaller chime from this spot next to my back door. That one always caught a breeze so I figured it was a good chance for this large chime to also catch the breeze. And it does! It is so cool to hear it while I am cooking in the kitchen, a deep, calm sound that seems farther off than it is. I love the whole thing and am so relieved that it is as impressive and beautiful as it is. Looks like it will last multiple generations.

I have searched for a pleasant sounding low tone cylinder bell for a while.I love how easily this plays the beautiful tones.It is quite heavy and surprisingly large.So happy with my purchase.I will love this for years to come.FYI-you’ll need to tie your own knot.Just refer back to the Amazon instructions.

Much nicer than most wind chimes. Heavy, with a deep gong- it's well-constructed, the metal is substantial and it looks great.

I have had these bells in smaller sizes. They have all held up well. This bell is very large and somewhat heavier than I expected. That is not a problem but it does require a sturdy hook to hold the weight. As previous bells, this one is very well made. The sounds it makes are pleasant and pure. When I first saw it I thought it might be too loud and annoy the neighbors. Fortunately, the sounds are deep and soft. It makes a subtle sound that won't annoy anyone. It has a truly beautiful pitch. It is a very attractive and well made bell.

I’ve always wanted a deep, resonating chime. I finally decided to splurge and chose this one based on its unique look and quality of sound. I hung it immediately after receiving it and sat with it for quite a while yesterday.My impression is that it’s durable. This is a good, heavy product. It will last. Someone in the questions section noted that it doesn’t weigh 12 pounds as per the stated shipping weight. I suspect those shipping weights are actually overstated by shippers, not manufacturers. But what difference does it make? This thing is heavy. It will take a tornado to blow it off the hook and it will last. My only concern here is about the nylon cord holding the wind catcher. That won’t last forever but it should be fine for several years. Surely there will be a way to reattach the piece when the time comes.The sound/tone is quite good. There are three distinct pitches. The lowest two pitches are peaceful. I think the highest pitch has just a tiny bit of “tinny” to it. For me it’s not enough to worry about, but that is the reason I went with four stars instead of five. At this price point I don’t want “tinny.” Even so, the tones are still relaxing and enjoyable. Listen to the videos from the other reviewers carefully and with your volume on high and make your own conclusion. The videos provide a faithful representation of how it sounds. If you don’t hear the “tinny” then maybe it’s just my imagination!The only other thing I noticed is that because this thing is so heavy it takes a moderately stiff breeze for the clapper to hit the bell. A little less weight on the clapper might have helped but might also affect the sound…so I dunno. It’s a trade off I suppose. If you want it to be durable then it’s naturally going to be heavy.Overall I’m satisfied with the investment and expect to enjoy this for a long time.
