Oiseaux, papillons et petites betes au point de croix - Birds , Butterflies and Small Animals Embroidery (French Edition) Hardcover – October 14, 2017

I just got this book and looked through it. I LOVE the designs. I sort of had the impression that there were 6 patterns and was a bit concerned, given the cost. But there are dozens of patterns of beetles, birds, eggs, feathers, butterflies/moths/caterpillars, and other insects, and even (yuck) spiders. They are in the style of scientific mounts (except for the birds, which are posed). and often have latin names that you can sew with them. You can sew the designs as groups or individual insects/birds. There are a couple of lovely butterfly/flower arrangements and a fascinating bird skeleton, plus "studies" of bird parts (feet, heads). I don't know where to being sewing. The book is, of course, in french, but the designs are just colors and symbols and dmc colors. The colors are rich, natural shades (except for a few black/white butterflies). I am so looking forward to sewing/ displaying these works of art. The patterns are in color and big and bright enough to read easily (I hate black/whtie patterns). I highly recommend this book. .

I just love Veronique Enginger cross stitch patterns, but this book is really special as it has delightful patterns on my favourite theme - birds and butterflies. I also love the added bonus of the collection of watercolour prints in the back book envelope which are gorgeous for framing and hanging!! Never seen such a treat in another cross stitch book before!

although this is a French book for stitching the diagrams are very easy to follow.
