Originally, they seemed to spring open to quickly and were too tight when trying to close our desktop. However, after a few weeks of use it has softened up. The struts can support a decent amount of weight when being employed. Easy to install. Happy with the purchase.

I got a deal on an older model Yakima Spacecase. In perfect overall case condition but the seals and lifters were quite worn after many many years. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned up the seals using GooGone and rubbing alcohol. Then I replaced the worn gas lifters with these. The case is like brand new from the factory. Could not be happier with the result. Lid lifts up easily and stays put until you pull it down. I expect many years of additional use from this case thanks to these new lifters.

After installing both struts and closing the bed 2 times (this is on an RV), one of the (clips popped off and the connection to support bracket came off completely. I placed the clip on the strut a second time and had the same result. I do NOT think I had a defective strut. I think that it was likely user error - I was probably not precise enough in mounting the support brackets. So, I'm giving these a 4.

Got these for polaris dump bed mostly because they matched dimensionality. After installing them, I couldn't put the bed back down. Ended up removing one of them and keeping an old one on one side and a new on the other. Still hard to close but makes dumping stuff from the bed easy. Maybe next time I'll find some that aren't quite as strong but the right length without the expense of one from a polaris dealer.

They were not as heavy duty as what I was exoecting.

I used one strut to hold up the heavy lid of a metal job box. The strut needs to be compressed about 1/2 inch during installation which required some creativity. But the end result is perfect, with the lid always being supported and feeling lighter during closure. The original strut had a welded end which snapped off. This is a concentric screw-on end and has a thicker connecting rod. It's stronger and better.

I ordered these gas struts to install onto a cedar chest lid. I knew when I ordered them that no mounting hardware came with them, so I purchased them separately. The standard size of most strut sleeves is 10mm. These struts have 8mm sleeves, which aren't sold anywhere. If the manufacturer is going to have a specific size sleeve that is different from everyone else, the mounting hardware should come with it. I'm returning these and have already purchased replacements that actually work. If mounting hardware came with these, I would give it a 5-star review.

The media could not be loaded. I pinched the nerve in my back a while ago but couldn't figure out why until the next time I drove the snowblower I went to grab the handle to pull up the blower and my back felt the exact same way. I thought it shouldn't be that hard. Replacing these makes it so much easier to lift now. Very happy
