An Authentic Page Turner
This book is contemporary, written in a very straightforward and down-to-earth style. In spite of the frequent foreshadowing, it offered up one surprise after another. I was thoroughly entertained. I found it difficult to put down, and didn't want it to end.

Searching for Family
Lucy's mom died from cancer. Just before she died she had Lucy pull some papers from under the mattress. They were from a lawyer in a small town on the coast. After her mom's feather Lucy used her last dollars to go to see the town and the lawyer.

couldn’t put it down!
I was hooked. I love a parallel storyline and this one was done so well. Highly recommend for a good nightly binge read

Enticing
I enjoyed every page of this book! Finally getting to figure out the Family Tree was a bit confusing. But once you were given some of the odd pieces the puzzle came together. The characters literally grab you and you feel their pain, excitement and Joy. A must read

good read
It was a really good read with so many characters. Occasionally difficult to keep them all straight, but really enjoyed it

entertaining
Very much like Mary Ellen Taylor’s other book, The Spring House. Wish I had read them in reverse order. Easy read and just enough mystery to make it captivating. On to her next book.

ok read
pleasant story of finding a home, returning to old places and uncovering secrets...i do not like prose that "time jumps"...i prefer stories told in one continuous chronological sweep, rather than hopping back and forth, following other plots, and connecting at the end...this text does a lot of jumping, and each time it did, i lost focus...and interest...there is also one annoying mis-spelling...so, on the whole, a pleasant, cosy read, worth the 99p, but not a keeper...

Confusing Read
I found this a very complex book to get my head around. For me there were far too many families, too many characters, too many generations and too many different story lines, I had trouble keeping up with who was who and the two different time lines didn't help. If the book had been simplified if would have been a reasonable read.

Winter cottage
The book had some wonderful characters and was a page turner to the end. I enjoyed the different eras’s and how the characters lives had progressed with time. The story left you a feeling that everything would turn out well with the lives of the characters and the town would prosper . A enjoyable story to read on a wet winters day .

Disappointed
Well I waited for the release day and started to read. I never really got settled into the story, it didn't grip my interest at the beginning and went down hill from there. My normal reads are Rosie Goodwill, Lesley Pearce and the like and from page one your already interested. Sorry I'm so negative but just not for me.

Intriguing
Loved it. I enjoyed Lucy’s journey and discovering the history of the house and its characters. It is well written and an easy read. I would highly recommend it. I am now going to read her follow on book.
