I love these. First ones from this brand and I love it they cut smaller gauge wires I use on 18 and smaller. I use my old cutter for 16 and larger wires.... Very satisfied. Would buy again and suggest.

Ive bought two pairs of these so far, one for me and one for my uncle. They literally have quality you can feel. The grips are a very nice lightly matted rubber so you can keep a ginger hold on them with ease. They make very nice clean cuts effortlessly. Xuron flush cutters absolutely will be my mainstay for electronic snips. You pay a premium price but you get a quality American made product. Absolutely would recommend these.

I am normally a Lindstrom user, and am pretty particular about lead trimmers. These are an an excellent product for this price range for electronic prototyping work. Note that these are lead trimmers used for flush-cutting electronic component leads, which are usually mild, un-hardened steel. For piano wire, guitar strings, bolts, etc. this is the wrong type of product. Also note that this design has one cutting edge offset on purpose, to minimize edge wear. They also work well for flush-cutting cable ties, and in a pinch will do a serviceable job on toenails.

Item was priced lower than usual mfr. pricing and arrived very quickly.

I would be giving these 5 stars but upon inspection, the cutter heads are out of alignment. The last pair I had until someone stole them, were perfectly ground smooth. These flush faces are not flush, their is a little edge like they were ground separately then assembled. They do cut fairly clean, but I don't do work under a microscope, if I did I would probably have sent them back to get a replacement set and hope the quality control was better. I cut zip ties and plastic dash kits for clean car audio installation. For the price of shipping back and forth and time lost, I just decided to deal with it.

First thing I would like to point out, these cutters are intentionally designed with the cutting blades offset by 0.1 millimeters. The blades cut by using mechanical shearing, that is, the blades slide past each other as opposed to pinching together as you would find in most typical cutters. This design significantly reduces the effort needed to cut material and creates a flat cut, as opposed to a tapered cut as you would get with most typical cutters. So, if you were reading the other reviews and worried about the blades "not being flush", you can rest assured that this is actually a design feature, a very good one at that!Other features I enjoy:- Wide rubber handles make grasping easy and secure- Black finish reduces glare from lights- Flat spring provides constant tension, so that the cutters open without sticking- Spring tension is just enough, so you can use these for hours without fatigue- Heat treated so the blades stay sharp- Tight tolerances so the cutters never exhibit "wiggle"- Wide cutting range, 14 to 30 AWG wireIn conclusion, these are some of the best shear cutters I have ever used. I’ve used this product for about 20 years throughout my career. This is probably the third pair of this particular cutter over that time. They are used almost daily, so that speaks to the longevity of them. They are some of my favorite cutters.

I've snipped everything from individual CAT6 cable wires to 12-gauge outlet wires with these and never been disappointed. Had my own pair for a couple years, and just recently bought a pair for my son. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

I've used these a fair bit to cut brass rods up to 0.5mm and so far so good. I wouldn't use them to cut over that size though.
