The book gives information and details on the history of amber in Europe. All those who love amber should read it!

A very good book.

An interesting book about amber in Antiquity, although a little biased toward Italy and the Etruscians. I would have appreciated more attention to Greece and Mycenae, and maybe more about the sources of amber in Jutland (Denmark) and along coast of the Baltic Sea.

I liked this book.if you like me and collect amber and are also interested in the myth in antiquity then this is for you

Very good textbook, and well illustrated

Expect high quality coming from Getty Museum Publication, very good introduction - is educational. Also a good reference for a the Getty's reputation for antiquities trafficking, their acquisitions policy is consistently ignored internally and they do tend to push to envelope with 'we didn't know it was stolen!" see link to full story.[...]
