Great so far -- written instructions would have been a plus
I bought this stand to replace my ancient metal stand for use on gigs. The package arrived very quickly from the manufacturer. The stand is very easy to set up, with the only complication being the pivoting top, which required a bit of finessing to get into the proper position -- you basically need to push on the actual pivot point with one hand while pivoting the music holding surface with the other hand. I wish instructions had been included in the package. Otherwise, once set up, the stand is very stable, readily adjustable, and lightweight as advertised. I particularly love that it can be set up at a very low height (great for cellists) and with a wide stand base (for stability). The carrying case seems to be made of heavyweight canvas, which looks like it will be much more durable than other stands. Looking forward to getting good use out of this stand!

Great little music stand
These were very serviceable and did the job. To adjust the tilt of the sheet holder, make sure to grab the stand with your four fingers, and then only press one side of the button with your thumb and don't touch the other side (everyone who fiddled with them spent a few minutes pressing both sides of the button trying to adjust it). I feel like we maxed out its capacity with a 1" binder with eighty pages. But, for its price, you can't beat it. Very light. Easy to set up. Easy to store afterwards (boy it is nice not having stacks of heavy music stands to deal with). I'm actually going to buy a couple more.

Doesn't Fold Fully
I think this is sort of meh. I wanted a fully foldable music stand and instead this can only fold so much. The top part (where it actually holds the music), has a mechanism where you push it in and you can rotate it and then it locks in place. The problem is that it cannot fold back 100% and is at an angle of about 30%. It does come apart and you can fit it straight in a bag, but I would prefer not having to assemble my stand every time I put it away.

light but ...
It is light since it is made of aluminum. The reason I rate this 2 stars is because this item is different from the look on the website Amazon posted. Also, you have to take it apart and make it to 2 parts to put it in the case came with the stand since the case included with it is too short. If you don't take it apart you can't fit it in the case. It means every time you carry it outside home, you will have to assemble again. It may not be a big deal but, considering this kind of stand are mostly designed to fold and fit in the case so that you can easily carry and set up, that you have to work more every time you take it out or put it in is definitely weak point.

Nice and light, but needs to be broken down to fit in case.
This stand weighs in at 1 lb 7 oz - a big improvement over steel stands - and it seems to be well-constructed and nicely finished. Any musician who travels with a heavier stand will be happy to switch. The only negative is that the carrying case isn't long enough to hold the stand, unless you break it down into two sections. That's a minor inconvenience, but it does take a bit of extra time to set up and take down.

Really light and pretty sturdy too!
I'm in a music festival that everyone has to carry a music stand around and I have used numbers of music stands before. This one is really light and easy to set up. It is one piece and fits the bag really well. I have been going around to let my friends and teachers to feel the weight of the stands and so far, everyone has been really amazed. I mean, this is a good functioning music stand that doesn't break easy, and on top of that, it's really light! I think every musicians should get one to put in the car or something. One con that I think of : Some of the fold-able music stands has an extension on the sides so that you can keep three pages of music up easily, but this one doesn't. Though it doesn't really affect my usage.

What's up with all the rave reviews??
For $20 and all the rave reviews about this stand, I was expecting a lot more. This thing is super flimsy. I have to extend it to full height when reading guitar tabs because I'm 6'5" and this thing sways like crazy. If you've got the cash, get something sturdier.

I use the stand at home for practice and it is great. I like that it has extensions on the sides that fold out if you need them for wider music, and also the fold-out arms to keep bulky music open on the music holder part of the stand. The case is very nice, if you need that. Set up is easy, plus there is a video to explain if you need help.
