Seriously sturdy!
I purchased these to go onto my Yakima Overhaul HD truck bed rack that I use to haul my kayaks. Although the rack held the kayaks fine using the built in tie downs, we travel a fair amount and sometimes we hit cross winds and so I wanted to make sure the kayaks could never slip sideways like they used to do on my old cheap roof rack. I was a bit concerned about the cost of these load stops but once I received them I know why they are expensive, as they are probably 1/4" thick solid steel, powder coated, and as sturdy as the very solid ladder/kayak rack they are mounted to now. Note that on the Overhaul HD I was able to push the loadstop out onto the end caps (which have a screw in them to keep them in place) and they still felt rock solid. I did buy uxcell brand "foam tubing for handle grip" in the 28mm size and slid it over each load stop to prevent scratching where they might rub the kayaks. It was a tight fit but I sprayed some dry lube on the loadstops, cut the foam to length, and then was able to slide the foam onto the loadstop. The foam was purchased on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0951ZLSJL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) and is designed for handle grips on things like shovels. It comes in many sizes but I am pretty sure I ended up using the 28mm ID x 38mm OD diameter size. The white powder on the loadstop is the drylube that I applied prior to pushing the foam down as it was a tight fit. Forgive the clutter in the background!

Over priced for sure, but quality product.
These load stops are sturdy, well made, and versatile. cons: 1. overpriced 2. threaded ends could be 1/4" longer to facilitate lock washers. Some have complained about them loosening during use. I haven't experienced that yet. Adding a lock washer of some sort would be a super easy fix. I believe the threaded stems could be a tad longer and the price is definitely high for what you get.

Yakama Load Stops
Well made and does the job. Amazon carried the load stops. While the local Yakama rep could never figure out how to order them.

Function well
These work for their intended purpose. They are much thicker than I was expecting. The paint seems fairly durable as well, and being matte helps hide if you need to touch them up. If they scratch they will rust, so keep them touched up if you care about that.

HEAVY DUTY! May have to move wind fairing AND SUP pads, so consider if you NEED them.
5 stars as its super for construction equipment atop a bare roof rack; BUT for me, and Its 100% on me, but when I got them I realized, i will have to take off the wind fairing to slide the front ones on; AND completely remove the SUP pads; oh, and with their height, cannot drive my camper van into its shed!!!!!!! I got them for transporting a commercial picnic table/farmers market awning outside of the van (it takes up so much backseat room) but am now in a quandry re. keeping the mounts vs. trying to strap it atop with low profile "Yak Attack" channel mounts vs. just straight out strapping it down with webbing atop the rack.

Solid and perfect fit
These Yakima load stops are a necessity for their HD crossbars. I recommend these branded stops over some knockoff brands. If you have an expensive Yakima Rack then just buy these to complete the system.

They do the job
I got two sets to use on two sets of Yakima's HD bars. Work great. Sturdier than I feared they would be. The only gripe I have is that I wish the bolt was a fraction longer. As it is I have to completely unthread it to remove them over the end caps on the HD bars.
