you get what you pay for... and sometimes you get even less than what you pay for
The title of this review is based on the fact that this book costs only $25. Now, if you hunt around enough through the forest of forex education that you can pay for you will know that $25 is practical nothing compared to what you might pay for other books and/or courses.Speaking of courses... the author of this book sells a forex education course that carries a price tag of $8000 and while reading this book it very often struck me that this book was written as nothing more than an advertisement for his courses. Yes, this book is that vague... at best.Take a moment and think about this... the subtitle to this book has the word "patterns" in it but yet if you look in the index at the back of the book you won't even find an entry for the word "patterns". What does that tell you?Did I mention the word "vague"? At very best this book is vague and is a very general introduction to the box office where you buy your ticket to actually enter the forex trading arena.Like I said, you get what you pay for and when you pay only $25 for this book that is about all the true value that you will get for your money, which pails in comparison to the vast amount of information that you can pay for and also find for free if you take the time to turn over every stone on the internet that concerns forex trading. You never know what you might find for free.Allow me to add this. If you are coinsidering buying this book then I assume you are relatively new to forex. If this is the case, your first step should be to explore the psychological aspect of trading. Don't underestimate this suggestion. You will thank me for it. Look for a book called, "Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas or an extremely deep and eye opening course offered over the Internet called 80/20 The Trader's Mindset by Chris Matthews. This course is worth so much more than you will pay for it you will be truly amazed. The bonus materials alone are worth the price of the course. As far as nuts and bolts trading education goes, look into two products by Dean Saunders named The 10 Minute Forex Wealth Builder, or The Forex Blade Strategies.Lastly, do not start out trying to scalp on short time frames. Scalping is the worst place to start forex trading. Start learning and trading on 4 hour and daily charts first... it is much easier and much less stressful than scalpling off short time frame charts.

The Big Gamble
Very exciting way to create wealth quickly and intelligently if you can learn (ALSO A REALLY QUICK WAY TO LOSE A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY IF YOU DO NOT LEARN OR DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES). Also a fantastic way to gamble. Have seen people who know what they are doing get exceedingly rich but by the same token they can loose a fortune if the market turns and they are not prepared.

You NEED to read this book...
As an experienced Forex Trader I can assure you that most of the reasons traders lose money is due to the complexity of the forex market and the various number of confusing indicators that most educators encourage you to use. In reality it is your discipline, patience and persistance which will make you profitable. This book encourages you to have a trading plan; using a selected number of indicators looking for a convergence between them. It also focuses very heavily on your mindset which is paramount for success. Irrespective of your level of knowledge and trading experience in Forex...this book is great value for all traders. To your success...

Good but repetitive
The concepts are good but the material is a little too repetitive. I found that Jared is certainly an excellent trader and teacher but I found this book a little too preachy and repetitive.

Great content.
The content is awesome, However it had no cover, a ton of markings. I had no idea i was getting it used. However if you trade forex or if you want to know more about it this is a great book to grab.

It is a very good book, but the subject requires much more reading.

Garbage, possibly
I have read three quarters of it in a couple of days and I have yet to learn anything new. It doesn't even ACTUALLY cover ten essentials unless it's quite subtle. My background in this topic is that I am a rookie trader and have done a lot of research and reading on this topic. This book might be of some use to a total beginner but I didn't find it explained the concepts very well. I've seen it done much better elsewhere, especially on one particular free training website. For the more experienced trader I fail to see how this could be of any use at all. Save your money. I'd like mine back!

Great for getting started
I thought this was a great book to get you started on the fundamentals of trading and what to look for in the way of patterns and candlesticks and fibonacci etc, but it woould be more of an overview and you would probably have to follow this book up with some more indepth books / courses to build on the information on this book.

Goood Technicals
A good explanation of the technicals of forex trading but you really need his second book, "The Forex Mindset" to understand how he suggests you implement these strategies.

Good general forex trading advice--some errors in the text--a lot of company product self-serving advertising.
