Moderately and real smoked salt
As one would guess, using white wine barrel wood to provide the smokiness, it's a subtle but firm smokey flavor. Recommend putting at least a little in any stew or chili and use regular salt with this.

Best salt for salmon
I use this on fresh salmon, it adds incredible flavor. Unfortunately it seems to be sold out everywhere recently.

Smokey for curing, not necessarily for finishing
This salt is very smokey and wonderful. The grains are like pretzel sized, very hard, and therefore not the best for table salt or for finishing salt. For finishing I would use something more subtle like Maldon smoked sea salt.BUT this alder smoked salt is fantastic for imparting a smokey flavor. I've used it to make smoked salmon, turkey pastrami and corned turkey. I've used it in sauces and in soups. I love this stuff, and you can almost always find it in my cupboard

Great way to get Mesquite flavor on your steak and burgers. Finishing salt only.
Just make sure you use it as a finishing salt. Don’t cook with it or you will lose the smoke flavor. I add it to my steak and burgers just before eating.

Delicious scent and taste
I smell this salt and I think of delicious food. Food made with it is wonderful.

I was skeptical, but we love it!
We thought we would like this.... and we love it... but we did not know what to expect.MAN---- this stuff is good.When we first opened and smelled it, we thought it might be too strong, because it smells like a campfire... but this stuff really picks-up almost any boring dish by adding a subtle smokiness. We really like it.It is delicious on: burgers, shrimp, eggs, beans, steaks, and I even used it in a hot pepper sauce. Just use it in moderation, you can always add more later. This one pouch of salt will likely last us years.
