Floto Monticello Handbag, Vecchio Brown, One Size

After dealing with yet another Amazon goof-up (sent wrong item and had to go through that exchange process again - is it my imagination or is that happening a lot more lately?) - I finally got what I paid for and have to admit I wish I hadn't. I think the quality of the bag is truly excellent. A nice heavy leather that I believe will age well. Has an outside pocket and carrying handles that are long enough to carry over shoulder as needed. it would probably make a good travel bag. My "beef" with it is that it is heavier and larger than I expected. Yes, I read the measurements, and they seemed within my specifications for a brown purse. I also wanted something with a little structure to it that wouldn't flop over. So, it met those needs. But the size of the bag coupled with the heavier leather and the fact that it has a big, open center compartment, makes me think this bag would act well as a travel bag - almost like a duffle bag or a tote bag - better than it does as a daily purse for work. So, since I was looking for more of a purse than a tote, I am disappointed. But as usual, the trouble with Amazon I had initially made me feel like I didn't want to go through another return, so I have kept it and will use it for travel. An expensive mistake for me, especially since I still need a good quality brown leather handbag for daily use. Again, this is just a problem of cross purposes, not an issue with the quality of the item itself.

I am SO disappointed with this handbag. My original - exact style name etc...had nice heavy duty silver colored metal-toothth zippers on top and on the side. This one has nylon toothth zippers on top and side. I'm rough on handbags, so I don't expect that this one will end up being my "go to" handbag for everyday, as was my last Floto Monticello. I'll have to "save it for best". The thing is, that it costs the same as the old model with the metal zippers, but now it feels like an expensive-cheap knock-off!! BIG disappointment.

I have the  Floto Luggage Venezia Duffle  and just love it! This item is the perfect complement for traveling. I primarily use both of these on car trips, for now - and this handbag is great for toiletries, cables, books and magazines, iPad, etc. Then it can double as a satchel or shopper once I reach my destination. My wallet and phone fit perfectly, with space for various purchases.It's perfect, for my needs!

...within a few months zippers, and seams began to fall apart. The leather is supple and of high quality, but the bag is not well made. I took it to a shoe repairman and he re-sewed parts and fixed.

I did love this purse but the color wasn't for me. I love floto and still gave this a great review
