Over all a good quality product
Installed on Gen 2 CumminsPros; Nice quality, good instructions with photos, works as advertisedCons; The noise that comes through the cable is horrible, The gear oil smell that comes through the cable is pretty bad too, Sent a message to supplier stating I received a different part number then I ordered. Never heard back from them. I printed the correct instructions myself.

Works
Stays in 4x4 unlike the old vacuum system that would slip in and out .

Great product, instructions need tweaking.
Instructions don’t specify how to add gear oil. Found service manual for 1998 Ram 2500 and it states to add 5 ounces through light indicator opening of actuator housing. I needed to attach all parts to test everything and make adjustments prior to final installation. Once installed, I added the gear oil with an oral syringe and shot it through the breather opening of the new housing and then added breather port/tube.Some reviews state to add oil through fill plug of differential. If the gear oil in differential would reach the axle actuator, then it would all drain when the actuator housing is removed. Axle is sealed at differential because differential was full.Product itself is great. I finally have a 4x4 again.

Good product. Easy install
The instructions should include a couple of “tips” for easier install

Best thing I've done to my truck
Love this kit. I installed this on my 97 Ram 1500, 4x4 with the 5 speed. I pull trailers often, and the 2wd low feature is awesome for backing up heavy trailers or in tight areas. (Saves your clutch, you can pretty much crawl at idle). The Install was pretty simple, took maybe 2 hours. Make sure you use plenty of zip ties to keep you cable away from the exhuast, or sharp corners. There are two ways to engage the 4x4: By either rotating the knob counter-clockwise or by pushing the button in and pulling it out until it clicks. The way I do it: Put the truck in neutral, and pull the transfercase lever into 4x4. Then twist the Posi-lok knob while slowly turing the steering wheel back and forth, this will allow the axle shafts to align and you can feel it lock into 4x4.Summary: I love this kit, one of my favorite upgrades I have done to my truck. I've had it for 6 months and no issues so far. Much faster and more reliable than the stock vacuum actuator. Also, this kit is made by Posi-Lok, and is the original. There is a knock-off from Alloy Usa on here as well that is not of the same quality.. Spend the extra $$ and get the real deal.

As Advertised
Overall I'm very pleased. Installation wasn't hard, by far the worst part is locating and drilling the hole in the firewall. The only complaints I have about the system are A) the mounting bracket seems a little flimsy for such a stiff cable B) The kit should have come with all 3 C clips that you need (make sure to salvage the ones in your stock setup). So far, the system performs great. Way more reliable than the stupid factory vacuum systems.

Great kit
No more wondering if the axles are gonna engage or not! Push button and pull cable and it’s going! Directions could be better but all together it’s well worth it

Fallow The directions
Works well but I think cable pulls a little too hard
