BestDealUSA USB 2.0 to IDE SATA 2.5 3.5 Hard Drive Converter Cable

I got this to replace the converter I got a few years back. Already having the power supply and SATA cable this kit saved me $10-15 from doubling up. I use this setup to drive an internal DVD-burner for ripping discs when the DVD in the laptop has problems with scratched discs or I need extra speed. This unit supports burning to external units so that's a plus; I never could get the one that died to burn properly. Also works well when imaging or reading hard disks. I copied old files from 3.5" ATA drives to my laptop when I purchased it several years ago. There's no activity LED on this one, but I never paid much attention to the old one anyway. I should have invested in a 10-12" SATA cable, the 4" cable from the old kit works but the extra length would come in handy.

This is no longer available, probably because its been replaced by a USB3.0 version. In any case, this worked well (still does) and is quite a handytool to have around for a multiple-drive-owning type. Saves having to fiddle with the innards and reboot just to access a drive.

works great. as a reminder, for 3.5" Hard drives, you will have to find an external power source. this is perfect for 2.5" hard drives.

This didn't work and I had to return it for a full refund which by the way was fast and accurate so no complaints on the resolution just disappointed that I had to find another one that works.

Worked right out of box. Covers most any needs you could have. I ordered & am using an assortment as I needed several adapters.
