I love these! I am kind of a fraidy cat when it comes to vermiculite and pearlite so I decided to take a stab at rice hulls. I parboiled them just incase to kill off any potential pests or larva. One unexpected benefit is that it makes a really nice noise when you are stirring it! I do think these are a tiny bit over priced but everything on amazon is.Overall good product I highly recommend!!

I've never used rice hulls in my soil mixes before, so this was my first experience with it. I knew I wanted ~.25 cubic feet but this product only listed dry weight. Thankfully Google got me close enough and the amount met my needs.I was expecting some contaminants to be in the bag due to processing and packaging, but I didn't find any foreign stuff. I'm not sure if that's normal for rice hulls, but it impressed me.I will definitely be ordering much more and will continue with this brand!

I bought this to use as a mulch. I found that it moved around too much when I watered the plants, and for that reason I probably wouldn’t use it for that purpose anymore.That said, this is a great product and I’d recommend it as an ingredient in your potting mix

I wasn’t too sure about this when first I applied this to my raised beds, but it soon settles into the soil well. Buying more.

I purchased this for my desert rose plants. They seem to be triving with it. I also use it in my ariod mix. I will be purchasing this again.

Rice hulls are preferable to vermiculite or perlite as an organic additive to improve drainage of over-the-counter potting soil.
