PanamaxBB-ZB1 BlueBOLT Wireless Ethernet Bridge for MD2-ZB (White)

OK - here's the thing with this device... All of the scant documentation talks about how it's so "auto configuring" and it is, to a point. It WILL set itself up and work with their web site just fine and communicate with the outlets and send stuff to the cloud, but they have made one HUGE ASSUMPTION with this device. That is that you will NEVER put it on the public Internet. :-O because if you do, and this is a HUGE WARNING TO EVERYONE OUT THERE, it has a WIDE OPEN WEB SERVER ON IT and ANYONE (and I do mean ANYONE!!) who has the IP address or just 'stumbles across it' (ie; scanning for port 80...) can just hit this thing with any browser and change your IP address and mess it up. Luckily they cannot get the secret code from the bottom of the unit via this web page, but they can take down your entire power monitoring set up by merely setting up a static IP (that you will now not know) on it. I have communicated the HUGE security risk that this poses to the Furman technical support department and so far they seem ambivalent to it. I have received NO RESPONSE from them. We had to essentially set up an IP filter to filter port 80 for only our IP ranges to be able to get to it. maybe they will fix this in a future firmware update. Let's hope so.
