Henschel HatsHenschel Cowhide Suede Explorer with Mesh Crown

I purchased this hat in brown on a vacation six years ago and it is my go-to hat in the summer because it keeps the sun out of my eyes and off of my neck without being too hot thanks to the mesh crown. I recently purchased another one of these hats, in tan, from Amazon. The hat is well constructed and at first it's rather stiff but it will loosen up and become more flexible. The only reason I didn't give this hat five stars is because of the way the rawhide band is secured. The band, which is cool looking, is glued on to the hat with hot glue. Eventually this glue loosens and the band comes off. This won't happen overnight, it took six years of summer wear for it to happen on mine and it isn't impossible or difficult to fix, you could either use a hot glue gun to glue the band back on or sew it on to the hat (I'm going to sew mine on to the hat by attaching the rawhide band to the mesh crown). The sizing is accurate, I wear a 7 5/8 or 7 3/4 and the extra large size fits me nicely.

These are great hats! I have purchased four of these and given two as gifts. I kept one of each color for myself. They last for years. I purchased all of mine for between $22 - $30 each, so Amazon is ripping people off at $76-$79 per hat. I wouldn't pay that for them.

Gorgeous, well-made, and high-quality. Bought this same model years ago as a gift for my husband and these Henschel suede/leather hats last and last, worth every penny. Buy with confidence.

I saw this hat in a store in Savannah and fell in love with it! It was about 25% less expensive from Amazon and so I ordered it while still in the store. Nice to have Amazon around!Hat fits great, holds its shape well, and has a very rustic look. The cap has great ventilation that keeps your head cool.

This one makes #9 or #10. Wish I had bought 20 back when I bought the first one at 20$

Had my last hat for 20 plus years.....the new one is not as sturdy as the old one, made with less material ...overall a good hat......

I have had many compliments on the this hat.

First of all they sent me the wrong hat. I ordered the green and got the brown. I find the brown ugly. The green and tan was why I ordered it the first place.Second - this hat feels cheap. It sits high and the front peak is off center.I gave it to my nephew for a costume.
