HOWDIA150N /33lb Soft Open Lid Support, Safety Lift Support Gas Struts Gas Springs Gas Shocks for Cabinet Toy Box, Pack of 2

Received these struts today and started installing one of them. Instructions are lacking so I put extra holes in the wood I wouldn't have if the instructions had been better. One of the mounting brackets is very sturdy. The rectangular one bent as soon as I started closing the door panel. Panel isn't very heavy but bracket is an extremely poor choice for the amount of closing force required for the strut. I will be returning them. Sturdiness and value for money ratings would be 5's if the hardware was strong enough to support the fixture.

These bend easy and become unusable

The strut is fine, but the connecting hardware is just to thin to handle the load. Bent under weight of a 10-15lb shelf.

Could not find the size and pressure to replace the old one

One of them came stronger than the other and is slanting the hinge. Will work around to give it to buffer space more than the other

After trying 3 other brands and types of hinges, this hinge was a winner. Very happy with this product.

I bought these for a built in bench under a window with a wood top. I wanted the soft close so the top did not slam down and smash fingers. These did the opposite, the held the lid up and slowly closed to a certain point and then slammed it shut. I adjusted them s few times and noting seemed to help.

The media could not be loaded.  Good shocks but may be a little much for a toybox. I have to push lid down to close. brackets made of poor quality metal. I have had to bend the knuckle back into place a couple times. After some time I may need a new shock because of bracket failure.
