Book two was enjoyable because all the characters I the first book continued on in the second book!
I will miss all the people involved in this story, both books. They all evolved and seemingly found themselves. They all grew, each in their own way, and enjoyed each other! A well written book that I highly recommend to any and all readers!

Predictable but entertaining
This book is aimed squarely at those who read & enjoyed The Friday Night Knitting Club and, like many sequels, it doesn't quite live up to the original. To the extent that any 'formula' book -- group of female characters face challenges and overcome them in predictable or unpredictable ways -- can ever be called fresh, the first book qualified and this one, perhaps because we aren't discovering the characters for the first time, doesn't. Moreover, Jacobs leaves a few of her characters almost sidelined for the vast majority of the book, which is unfortunate. (It's hard to compare KC's struggle to quit smoking with, say, Catherine's quest for a meaningful life...)Those caveats aside, I'd give this 'yarn' a 3 1/2 star rating if Amazon allowed, since it amply delivers on its promise to help you pass several bleak winter hours in escapist enjoyment. In this outing, the surviving friends of Georgia Walker, knitter extraordinaire, along with her daughter and one-time lover (and father of her daughter), struggle in various ways to adjust to Georgia's legacy (tangible in the shape of the knitting supplies shop; intangible in many other ways). The book takes on a life of its own when Lucie and Dakota set off for Italy along with James, closely followed by Anita and Catherine, for reasons of their own. There are few surprises, but a few improbable twists, including a rather out-of-the-blue catalyst for the resolution of a few final issues. But overall this is a heartwarming tale. Which is probably the reason anyone will pick it up in the first place, so it delivers what it promises to readers. Best of all for fans of the original -- although I'm reading between the lines here -- it leaves the door wide open for a Knit Three, a book that would address Dakota's future, how James comes to grips with a post-Georgia life, the outcome of Catherine's fledgling romance and Anita's life with Marty. And hopefully a bit more of a role for some of the characters like Peri who got short shrift in this volume. It's almost enough to make me take up knitting...

Brilliant!
Engaging and completely addictive! I couldn’t put this book down! I even reread parts a few times just to make sure I didn’t miss out on any details. Italy is my dream vacay and I was there with the girls. I couldn’t fathom that a sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club could be as good as it was. Have already looked at the author’s other books and am going to read those next.

Splendid!
There is so about life that any woman can learn from this book. I read until the wee hours of the morning, until my eyes were blurry because it is so GOOD! I laughed, signed and wept my way through the pages.Like the first book, I was sorry to read the last page.Thank you.... So very much.

Better than the first!
I read them one right after the other (read the first one twice in six months to do this - GOD bless my kindle that I had it right at my fingertips!) and I think that only made it better. By the second book we already know our characters so they are able to branch out and do their thing - which was fun and great. I loved this book and found it very satisfying. Kate Jacobs seems to really expect her readers to do their share and "Keep Up" when reading, which was refreshing. Some fiction writers explain too much, she just gets on with it. I thought it was fresh and lovely. I laughed, I cried and it was genuine. You will probably like it, too.

A very good sequel
I love the first book and was gladly surprised by this one, very well thought in how to continue the stories of the characters than you don't need to read the first one necessarly, I just wish a better ending for James... thank you!

Sequel is not as good as Original
This sequel took a long time to get to the point of story development. One of the perks of reading on Kindle in that you can see the percent of the book read so far, and I noticed that we were a good 11-12% into the book before anything started to happen. It was as though the author was summarizing Friday Night Knit Club in that first part of the book, to the detriment of the story. I almost quit reading, but enjoyed the original so much that I was looking for a good read. This time around the characters have less development, and the story is predictable. Sorry to say that this was a disappointment. The characters do not really grow, but seem as though they are set into a surrounding, for instance half the knit club trooped off to Europe, with some travel reasons being contrived. The author aims and misses at writing a book about meaningful interactions among women of different backgrounds and age groups. Unfortunately, the ending sure sounded like a Book 3 is coming. I will pass on that one.

Enjoyable "girls get connected" book
If you are looking for a great chick book for a long weekend or a beach read, go for it. You have to read The Friday Night Knitting Club first. Jacobs tries to cover the background for the reader, but you don't get to know the characters as well because Georgia is gone.Enjoy.

Sequel to first
Didn’t enjoy this as I did the first, but it was “okay”…matter of personal taste here.Bought it thru Amazon so I wasn’t risking a great deal of money, so I can’t complain.

Recomend as a good read
This was a great book, an easy read and I was drawn to it because I am a knitter. This is not however a prerequisit for enjoying the book.I have purchased Knit Two and hope to enjoy it as much.
