Q: Could this be used to record my neighbour stamping on the floor above my flat? The sound is of low frequency and around 40-60db?

For the same money you could buy your neighbour a rug and/or a pair of slippers, maybe invite him/her down to yours for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat/smooch/beating.

Q: Does this come with a stand like the DR-05 version 2?

No it doesn't but the unit does feature a Tripod attachment screw thread (1/4-inch) Use this to attach the unit to a tripod or mic stand.

Q: Is this device useful for recording two people in an interview setting?

Yes it can........ but there are better options . The two mics give a good stereo effect BUT editing is not the best . I would suggest The Tascam dp 006 or dp 008 model for professional use ; stick with a voice activated model from Sony/Panasonic etc for a fraction of the price of the DR 05

Q: I have heard there are problems with the screen light going off very quickly. Is this a fault?

This can be changed in the settings menu, there are various options for how long it stays on so you help conserve battery life.
