The Kardashians: An American Drama Kindle Edition

Although this book is interesting I have a problem when I find an error (or errors) regarding the information included in the book. It makes me wonder how much research the author really did and makes me suspect that some of what I am reading is not true. As an example of an error in this book, Mr.Oppenheimer states that Linda Thompson found Elvis in his bathroom when he died. I not only read about Elvis' death in many books but knew Sonny West at that time and it was Ginger Alden who actually was living with Elvis and was one of the first people to discover his body. This might seem like a small thing to bring up out of an entire book but it caused me to not trust what Oppenheimer wrote throughout. I have read other books by this author and hope that they were better researched than this one was. He claims that Kris Jenner is not truthful (which I do not doubt), but how do we know when Mr. Oppenheimer states incorrect information in his book about her and her family? Credibility is as important as interesting content in my opinion.

This book reads like a cheap, bitter tabloid. Some of the information presented is biographical and interesting, but the author is so consumed by his hatred of his subjects that he sometimes sounds racist, sexist, homophobic, and otherwise incredibly mean spirited in his effort to cast a pall over everything and everyone related to the Kardashian dynasty. Whether you love them or hate them, the authors palatable distaste for them ruins any credibility he may have.

If you're interested in the shallow world of the Kardashians, you'll enjoy reading this book. If your kids want to read this book because they idolize the Kardashian girls, you've raised them wrong. The book is filled with interesting tidbits particularly about Kris. It appears well researched - and it is not at all flattering. I bought the book because I've always felt what Kris Kardashian has done to her children (except for poor Rob, he doesn't make much money for her so goes ignored) is a cardinal sin. To think what these girls could have done with their fame and fortune to work for the betterment of humanity, to support worthy causes, etc. - but alas so far, they have not. There is always hope. The book is a real eye opener.

Kris Houghton Kardashian Jenner is no Jolie Gabor. The Gabor matriarch inspired her daughters to find wealthy men. Eva, Magda and Zsa Zsa were beautiful women with charm, glamour and brains. The Kardashian children have none of those qualities.Kris Jenner is more like Big Kathy Hilton (mother of Kathy Hilton; grandmother of Paris Hilton) who would have envied Kris' accomplishments. I read the author's book, "House of Hilton."I loved how the author covered much understanding and history. Oppenheimer does a good job in writing about both sides of the Kardashian clan. The book paints an honest portrayal of the late Robert Kardashian too. I would hope he is turning over in his grave.This book offers a side to the OJ Simpson case but it didn't explain how or why a pregnant Kris with her fifth child would attend the trial regularly especially with four young children at home. I bet Kris is still hiding secrets about her life. The book help dispel Kris' version of events in her memoir.

He seems to hate them so much, it not only distracted me from the Kardashian story, but undermined my confidence in his veracity.Not recommended.

Liked the book although most of this I’ve read before in magazines or tabloids. Extremely narcissistic family but you have to admire their hustle, especially kris Jenner who started out as a housewife with just a HS education.

I really expected more from this book. Oppenheimer didn’t reveal anything the general public didn’t already know about the Kardashians, whereas his House of Hilton was chock full of juicy secrets and tidbits.

Despite the subjects surprisingly good. Focus is mainly on Robert Sr. and Kris.

I've read and enjoyed other books written by this author. This one I found disappointing. My impression is that he didn't put as much time or effort into writing it. A lot of what he writes is information that's already known and a few statements he made are untrue.
