The road between forgiveness and love...
This seemingly unrealistic story is filled with love, forgiveness, and the rebuilding of trust. I appreciate how the author keeps the characters Christ centered and not just the story. It shows that love and forgiveness go a long way to rebuilding relationships - but the fact that trust has to be rebuilt before the relationship deepened was wise and true. Also, I adore the alliteration of their names...Belle and Burke!😍

Recommend
Most personal growth comes through some level of struggle, and these two had some struggle. I wondered if the would ever get from point A to point B. It was wonderful to watch God work in their hearts and see Brock and Belle experience His grace and forgiveness. I liked this story very much. Belle's dad is a gem.

Predictable
Not enough going on. Also, there are numerous references that made no sense to me. A river rock large enough to wedge between two trees? The river rocks I have seen are hand-sized or maybe stepping stone size. A lean-to as part of a house is strange to me. They live in a lean-to? Their kitchen is a lean-to? I was confused. She refers to a southern county line. Southmost in the state? Directly south of the ranch or town? In a southern state? I finally stopped reading altogether.

Perfect timing!
This was a wonderful story of redemptive love. My favorite part is how she demonstrates the power of a personal relationship with Christ. Too many Christians think that saying the sinners prayer and occasional church attendance constitute all there is to being saved, but she has shown the beauty and necessity of deep commitment and daily, if not hourly, commune with the Savior of our souls.

Great story line. Inspiring Christian principles. A great exploration of God's forgiveness and our need to forgive as well. Would recommend.

Sweet story
This is a sweet story of second chances and forgiveness. Although it’s a bit different than her new works, I enjoyed the characters and the setting. And the sweetness of love restored.

Glad I took a chance on it
This was short, sweet, and somewhat predictable but I still really liked it. A little football, slow forgiveness, and a rekindled romance and I’m all in. Glad I took a chance on an early Hauck novel.
