Finally a solid purchase in all aspects!!!
Easy to install and fast to install. Comes with the little wrench to tighten it up. It fit right over the top of the door slide track and is solid! Can also adjust and remove quickly if needed. Great price and great quality! Would definitely recommend!!

Sturdy, stable and easy to install. Yes, it will fit a 6" tub.
I picked this rail for my aunt who needed extra stability to be able to step into her bathtub for a shower. We liked it because it was relatively compact, so it wouldn't take up too much room on the side of the tub. I also liked that it had two supports, so that it would be less likely to tip, and there were no big knobs that could grab her bathrobe or towel and put her off balance. It was important for it to be removable because she lives in an apartment. We found it very sturdy, stable, and easy to install. The supplied mini hex wrench was the only tool I needed. At first I thought that I wouldn't be able to use it because the tub was exactly 6" wide. That's the limit of what the rail is supposed to fit, but with the rubber padding reducing the space on the inside of the brackets to less than 6", it looked like it wouldn't be able to slide onto the tub side. What I did to get it wide enough to slide on was 1) take out the two long horizontal bolts that adjust the width of the opening and 2) loosen the two vertical bolts that attach the rail to the top of the brackets and lock the brackets to keep them from sliding open. With the brackets loose enough to flex a little, I could get it over the side of the tub. Once in place, I returned the horizontal bolts to their holes and tightened them and the vertical bolts. It's rock solid now and I'm glad I could get the horizontal bolts back in -- they add structural stability that the brackets wouldn't have with just the vertical bolts. Using both sets of bolts also means that there are two bolts that have to work loose before a bracket can get loose. I don't think it's ever coming off unless someone wants it to.My aunt is only about 5'4" and she finds the top of the rail to be a comfortable height. It feels okay to me, and I'm 5'10". If you are over 6' you might have to go for a different solution, particularly if you have more trouble with balance when you lean over.

Very well-made bathtub rail.
I purchased this rail system for my elderly aunt. It arrived on time well packaged and in new condtion. No assembly was required. Mounting instructions are easy to read and installation only took a few minutes. It fit the tub wall very well and feels very sturdy. This is not a cheaply-made rail--it is heavy and should last a long time. The clamps are padded,so no fears of scratching the tub walls. The only negative I can think of is the ultra-cheap "wrench" for lack of a better term, that is included for installation. The "wrench" is a flimsy, stamped thing made from thin steel that is not strong enough to tighten the bolts. You will need a decent 1/2" or 13mm wrench to make sure the clamps are secured to the tub walls. Other than that minor tool issue, this rail is heavy, sturdy and has a nice, easy to clean chrome finish exactly as pictured. Yes--I would buy it again.

Stable, installation a little tricky, rust damage after a while
I bought this item in October of 2021, and on the whole it's been very good. Installing it was straightforward, but it was difficult to get tight enough at first, and had to be re-tightened a couple of times. The knob that tightens it should be bigger -- that would make it possible to exert more leverage. After two years of use, some rust spots have developed around the welds and on some corners; they don't affect its integrity; I'm not sure how long it would last. We're moving later this year, so it's unlikely to be a problem for me, but I'm not sure I'd want to donate it with the rust.

Will only work on a straight sided tub.
Other than one, tiny, problem (which renders it useless for many tubs), this is a nice grab bar.Tested it in an empty tub, to check fit and ease of use.Height is excellent for most people. I am 5'2" and found it perfect to hold while stepping out of the tub. My husband is 6'5" and it wouldn't work for him (he is a shower guy, anyway!).However...The "clamp" does not adjust to any slant in the side of the tub. This leaves an open wedge, where the clamp does not touch the tub wall. No amount of tightening screws will allow for a safe install. It will not be tight (a jiggling handrail is not safe). You risk cracking your acrylic tub if you over-tighten the screws. Which will leave you with a broken tub and a still-loose railing.Returned this item without being able to use it.I recommend the following railing, instead:HEPO Adjustable Bathtub Grab Bars for Seniors, Bath Safety Grab Bar with Anti-Slip Cover for Elderly, Height and Width AdjustableI bought this one and IT WORKS!Clamp has a hinged side which adapts to the slant on the tub side.Easy install, no wrench needed and a single easy-grip handle to tighten (even with arthritis).Height is adjustable and simple to do.Rubberized grip on top of handle is non-slip (I tried it with soapy hands) and comfortable.

Sturdy, easy to set up
Easy to set up. Sturdy to hang onto when getting in and out of the tub. Not too high. The one I had before was shorter but I could easily wiggle it so it didn't feel as sturdy. This one feels very sturdy.
