Q: I just bought this chair and I'm confused! Am I supposed to sit with the tilt back or forward?

I think this depends on the person. You should be easily maintaining a good curvature on your lower spine while sitting on your sit bones. You can find this natural spine position by loosening the tilt mechanism and rocking your hips back and forth while sitting on the chair. Once you establish a natural position, tighten the tilt screw and set your tilt position. Feel free to experiment, without a certified ergonomics person observing you, it is impossible to suggest the right position for your body.

Q: I am very thin and have almost no padding on my bottom so I was wondering if the seat has padding or if it is hard?

I'm NOT thin and have plenty of padding!!! Lol but the seat is very comfortable. There is not much of a hump to go in between your legs so it positions you a little differently than other saddle seats. It is adjustable so you can tilt your pelvis forward or back toward your spine for your comfort. I'm a hairstylist and I used another saddle seat for quite sometime and this seat is way more comfortable. Btw, my husband purchased this for me and I'm answering on his amazon account (Sharon)

Q: What is maximum supported weight?

Not aware of manufacturer specification , however I am approx 230# and have no concern about chair's ability to support my weight properly

Q: Does this hurt the tailbone at all, or make contact with it?

No problem with tailbone! However, a man needs to mount the chair with some caution. Once mounted it is surprisingly comfortable. We use these in our dental office. Much cheaper than "dental" stools, but function just as well!
