Hallelujah!!! It's Awesome galore!!!
Hallelujah!! For $400 Television viewing changed forever for me. Got this projector, connected it to my cable box, it's good if you have dish or Direct TV, because the signals are digital... Or a better yet if you have access to ATSC digital signals you are are never gonna buy a large flat-screen TV ever in your life. This projector is the perfect home theater system for movies or even watching regular TV. Colors are crisp, accurate, oh watching movies with this projector? Outstanding!!! I connected this projector to my computer. When I built my computer, i installed a digital TV tuner card which you can get from Amazon for about 50 bucks. Got a digital TV antenna for over the air ATSC HD TV channels, my oh my... You will see the potential of this projector. Watching TV shows both local and TV in general is awesome. I don't know what else to say but all I can say is give it a try... I think that is the best way to experience what I'm trying to let you know. After seeing TV using this projector and watching Hulu and Netflix and YouTube using this projector, I really wondered why anyone would spend $1000+ on 80 inch flat-screen TVs. You don't need to do that again. Buy this projector, if your cable box is digital like dish or direct TV or if you have a TV tuner card in your computer, brother, friends, family.... You will see another dimension of TV like you never have before. You don't need to go to the movies anymore. Now if you have regular cable, it will still work but the picture quality will be as good as what the compression ratio of your TV box is. Like Comcast ugh! If you have Frontier and your TV bov has a HDMI connector, then you are in good hands. You will need a splitter though to channel HD audio to your speakers system. Read along and see how I set up mine. For me I use this both for watching Direct TV on my computer for Hulu and YouTube videos and some 120 HD channels on Direct TV. My Direct TV box is connected to my TV tuner card in my computer, then I connect a HDMI cable from my computer to the projector. HDMI cable carries both HD audio and digital video signals. Btw HDMI cable connects to my graphics card in my computer (AMD HD 6770) Any graphics card Nvidia or AMD will work. I built my computer 4 years ago so my card is a HD 6700 series with awesome sound. Yea processor is a six core AMD Phenom II X6 1090T. It's a workhorse of a machine. I love it!! For those of you who have this processor know what I'm talking about especially with multi tasking... but i digress... Sound out put goes through to this projector via the HDMI cable... then I connect RCA audio cable (red and white) on one end to my receiver and the other end of the RCA cable is a 3.5mm jack which connects to the projector via the audio out connector on the back of the projector. That is how I get HD sound from my computer to the receiver via the projector. I use Windows Media Center for TV. Im able to record TV shows that I miss on my hard drive. FIFA world cup etc! Oh and watching world cup is stupendous with this projector!! Yes I use Windows 7 64 bit(Long live Windows 7!!! ) which has Windows media center. Im able to watch TV while surfing Internet... awesome!! I project on my regular white living room wall. Projected content is about 120 inches huge on the wall. You don't need an 80 inch TV when you have this projector and especially for the price... Oh Ribabosha!!! It's Christmas!!... really. For those of you still using Comcast and regular non HD cable, you can still connect your cable box to the projector using the yellow audio cable one end to the back of the projector and the other end to the back of the cable box. Since Comcast compress their signal like it is Halloween..., picture quality will be horrible. Im being honest. The projector is as innocent as just projecting the quality of signal you are feeding to it. If you feed HD signals... you get to realize the full potential of this projector. If you feed it analog signals or over compressed signals that's what you will get to project... Horrible noisy picture quality. It's ugly don't even try... Buy a computer TV tuner card instead and install it in your computer if you know what you are doing.. It's easy or contact me, I can help you out. However, If you have HD TV like Dish, Frontier or Direct TV, you are set. I'm West coast so I don't know what you have out there in terms of TV providers in the middle of the lands and the East Coast but I've heard of Cox and other cable companies like AT&T or Jessica... etc so I don't know which is digital or not. Anyway just get this projector and see for yourself what im talking about. Enough said! Ribabosha!!!

First projector, was very nervous buying this
When I bought this projector it had about 40 reviews and overall 4.5 stars. I considered the less expensive PJD5134 because it had such high ratings. But I wanted to get the best for my budget. My budget initially was $400, but I decided to dish a little more for a hopefully better projector. As soon as I powered it on I knew I made the right decision.Set up - was a breeze, plug it in, hook it up (to my PS3) and aim at a wall. I did not buy a screen, I have an empty wall in my apartment where my old TV used to be. I did not buy fancy pain or anything.Quality - very very nice. Very crisp and very clear. The size and sharpness is adjustable to a certain degree. The projector is about 11 feet away (plus or minus 6 inches), I currently have a 90 inch diameter on a wall (and it can be made atleast 1 foot larger but my wall limits the size). Its really thrilling to see something so huge. To be honest I'm not too savvy in regards to whether its 1080 or 720, I have seen the projector adjust to images thats 1920x1080. Perhaps that information will be helpful to someone. I have watched netflix movies, played a whole variety of PS3 games and it is ridiculously sharp and clear.3D - I wasnt sure if I would be able to figure out how to watch things in 3D - but the PS3 and netflix made it simple. I watched some nature documentaries in 3D and it blew me away. It felt like the animals were right in front of me. Then I played call of duty in 3D, and yeah it felt like I was running through a battle field. I bought 2 active 3D glasses, from amazon - the cheapest I found. Works perfectly.Brightness - The bulb is ridiculously bright. At night it lights up my entire living room. I was able to read something with only the projector being on. Then I turned on all the lights - not a problem, I do not think there was any difference in brightness. Then the next morning (with sun shining into my apartment) I opened up all the curtains and turned on all the lights - brightness was still there, but a little less intense. However it was much better than I expected. In fact I play my games and watch my shows in the same lighting condition with dynamic eco on. Thats how bright it is. Dynamic eco is a mode that darkens the screen to preserve energy and I guess bulb life.Colors - The colors are so rich. Every time I turn it on I am amazed by how rich it is. I love playing video games on this.Sound - low, but the good thing is you can hook up 3.5mm speakers to it. The simplicity of hooking up my pc speakers was definitely a win.Overall I am very happy and thrilled I purchased this. I researched for about 1 month. And I could not have spent my money on a better device in my opinion. It deserves 5 stars.
